Being in the spotlight since she was really young, 16 year old Elizabeth Olsen was forced into the only possible choice of giving her daughter up for adoption after accidentally getting pregnant. Now, Elizabeth finds out that the 16 year old daught...
Nellie's POV "So is aunt Ashley mad at mom?" I asked Mary-Kate as she closed the door to her office.
"Yes, but I don't think she'll be mad for long. We are sisters, we fight. That's just what sisters do. Haven't you and your sisters fought before?" "Considering all my older siblings and I didn't live together and they're all now dead, no. Technically I don't have siblings anyways because I was Lizzie's accident."
Mary-Kate turned around from where she was standing with her measuring tape and looked me straight in the eyes.
"First, I'm sorry for your loss sweetie. Second of all you are not Lizzie's accident. Don't degrade yourself to that sweetie. Lizzie loves you, Robbie loves you, we love you. Don't worry about that. Okay?" Mary walked over and put her hand on my shoulder, although she had to stand on her tippy-toes to reach me.
"That still doesn't change the fact that I was an accident." "I know it wasn't the ideal situation Nells but Lizzie loved you and wanted what was best for you. She loves you so much."
"I guess you are right. Thanks Mary." She nodded and I gave her a hug before she took my measurements.
After a few minutes, MK grabbed her things and went over to her computer.
"I'm just going to enter this information into a spreadsheet." "Spreadsheet? Are you stalking me Mary-Kate?" MK laughed.
"No Nellie, it just has all of our families information separate from our other special customers. See, Lizzie's and Robbie's info is here right next to yours." "Oh okay."
I smiled as MK did her work and then she turned around and looked back at me.
"Nells? Can you go ask if Ashley wants to go take you somewhere? I think it will make her feel better. Besides, we are going to Lizzie's favorite restaurant tonight and I don't want Ashley to still be pissed off." "Sure. Bye Mary-Kate." "Bye Nellie."
I left MK's office and walked to Ashley's. I knocked on the door and Ashley didn't answer, so I called out.
"Aunt Ashley? Can I come in?"
A minute later, Ashley came over and opened the door.
"Sorry Nells, I thought you were your mom. What's up?" "Do you wanna go do something together Ashley?" "What do you want? Go do something with Elizabeth."
"Aunt Ashley, you know the city better than anyone! Can you take me to Washington Heights? Please." "I guess, come on Nellie."
Ashley put her work away and grabbed her purse so we could head out. I texted mom to make sure she was still okay and then Ashley and I left.
"Hi Ashley, how are you?" Jimmy asked as Ashley went to get in her car. "I'm good, and you?" "I'm good. You two have fun." "We will."
While we are in the car, Ashley and I just talk. I wanted Ashley to kind of be in a better mood as that's what Mary-Kate hoped would happen, so, I just let her ramble on about everything that was going on in the fashion industry for 24 minutes.
When we finally got there, Ashley parked and we started walking around that part of the city. While we walked, I put in my headphones and started singing along to Breathe.
"This is my street I smile at the faces I've known all my life They regard me with pride And everyone's sweet They say, "You're going places!" So how can I say that while I was away, I had so much to hide! Hey guys, it's me! The biggest disappointment you know The kid couldn't hack it, she's back and she's walkin real slow Welcome home Just breathe Just breathe As the radio plays old forgotten boleros I think of the days when this city was mine I remember the praise The neighborhood waved, and said Nina, be brave, and you're gonna be fine And maybe it's me But it seems like lifetimes ago So what do I say to these faces that I used to know? "Hey, I'm home?" Hey, They're not worried about me They are all counting on me to succeed I am the one who made it out The one who always made the grade But maybe I should've just stayed home... When I was a child I stayed wide awake, climbed to the highest place On every fire escape, restless to climb I got every scholarship Saved every dollar The first to go to college How do I tell them why I'm coming back home With my eyes on the horizon Just me and the GWB Asking 'Gee Nina, what'll you be?' Straighten the spine Smile for the neighbors Everything's fine Everything's cool The standard reply "Lots of tests, lots of papers" Smile, wave goodbye And pray to the sky, Oh, God - What will my parents say? Can I go in there and say "I know that I'm letting you down..." Just breathe..."
When I finished, I took my headphones out and looked up to see the stunned look on Ashley's face.
"Sorry Ash, I've been wanting to do that since 2017." She smiled at me.
"No, Nells don't apologize. That was amazing." "Really?" "Yes sweetie, that was amazing. You definitely have gotten your voice from your mom." I smiled, thinking that I may have gotten Lizzie's talent.
"Thank you Aunt Ashley. Is it okay if we go to the GWB so I can get pictures?" "Of course sweetie." Ashley smiled as we walked across the street to a ledge that overlooked the bridge.
"So what made you wanna come all the way up to Washington Heights for this bridge?" Ashley asked, looking up at me.
"Well, there is a musical called In The Heights and the character I relate to most is Nina Rosario and when she gets back from the year of trying to prove herself and getting imposter syndrome, like how I often do, the GWB is what grounds her before she goes and confronts her past." Ashley smiled at me.
"I definitely understand how she feels. I've definitely felt that before in my life but your mom and Mary have definitely helped me through that. I'm so grateful for them." I nodded. "So you're not mad at my mom anymore?" "No sweetie I'm not."
"Alright Nellie, lets get these pictures for you and then we can have some lunch before going shopping." "Okay thanks Aunt Ashley."

I posted the photo Ashley took to my Instagram and then we had lunch in a local restaurant before shopping.
"Thank you Ashley, this was an incredible." "Of course sweetie. Let's go back home." I nodded and we headed back.
