Delilah's Adventures

Chapter XXXVIII (BC)

"Well that was a bust!" I said as we walked down the road. "Yeah, it's sad that truck wasn't that great." Francis said. "Do you hate that truck now?" Zoey asked. "I hate walking more than that truck." Francis said.

"Help me up a bit please? I'm in my 70s." I said to them. They helped me down the road and once we reached the top we took a moment to rest. "You good there Bill?" Louis asked. "Yeah, just a bit winded. How about you young folk?" I asked them. It's not easy being in your 70s and you're trying to keep up with three younger folks.

"We're the same. But I have a good feeling about all of this!" Louis said. "I hate your good feeling." Francis said. "Let's just get ready to move. Say Bill, what happened to your crowbar?" Zoey asked. "Remember I had to use it to get us out of the bird before it crashed. Then my crowbar got stuck. But I have this nightstick to make up for it." I said.

We got up from our sitting spots and got ready to go. We walked down the road from the car we stopped by earlier. We saw a deer sign and a broken bridge. "Lets go down the hill by that deer sign. I think there's a ladder we can climb up to get to the other side of the bridge." I said. They all nodded and we walked down the hill carefully. We fought off some zombies on the way there too. "CHARGER!" Zoey said as I got charged by the Charger.

The Charger slammed me into a wall. Zoey killed the Charger and helped me up. Once I got up I healed up using my medkit. "Ready to continue Bill?" Louis asked. I nodded. we climbed up the ladder and saw a pretty bent up sign that read 'Riverside'. "I think we have to go through that tunnel." I said. "Fantastic. A tunnel." Francis said. "Don't be an ass, Francis." I said. we walked through the tunnel til we saw a traffic jam.

"Aww hell, we're going to have to climb over those cars." I said. "Great." Zoey said. We climbed over the cars and continued our walk through the tunnel until we reached a roadblock. "Let's go through that door on our left." Louis said. We walked through that door and down some stairs and through another door on our right. "I hate tunnels too." Francis said. "Pipe it for a bit about the stuff you hate." I said to him.

I had a pipe bomb with me just in case. Zoey and Louis each had a jar of boomer bile, and Francis had a Molotov. we walked into a storage room of a sort. We went up the staircase on the other side of the room. "The safe house is up there!" Louis said once we got outside. We went to the safe room but Louis and I both got grabbed by a pinning infected. I got grabbed by a Jockey and Louis got grabbed by a Smoker. Zoey saved Louis and Francis saved me. Once we got intop the safe room, Louis closed the door.

"I think we did great out there." Louis said. "I think so too." I said. I smiled a least that for now we are safe. I sat down to take a rest for a moment, much like everyone else. I sighed softly.

We're safe... For now.
