Chapter XXVII

I woke up around the time that the nurse was about to walk in. Everyone was up as well. "Keith my new friends and I have had such an amazing and scary adventure!" Ellis said talking to Keith. "Tell me all about it!" Keith said looking at Ellis. "Oh god, here comes the stories." Nick complained.

I punched his arm. "Nick be mean one more time and it'll be your nuts I'm punching." I said looking at him. Nick covered up his crotch. "No, please don't do that." He said looking at me. "I won't if you're nice." I said softly. Nick nodded. "Yes ma'am."

"Damn Nick, I never thought I'd see you scared of someone." Francis said softly. "Not trying to poke fun at you, but I'm just not used to you being like this." "I know, this is the side I don't usually show. Cause I was told to never trust others. And you see how now I'm trusting all of you." Nick said laying his right arm on his right leg.

I gently kissed his cheek. I know Louis doesn't mind this. "Nick you know you're safe now. I know the leader of the group." Everyone looked at me. "How?!" They all asked me. "He's my brother." I said seeing Aiden come in with the nurse.

"Sorry about Abby here, she doesn't really trust outsiders all that much. Abby, leave us after you give everyone their food." "It's not poisonous right?" Nick asked. "Nope. We make sure never to feed anyone poisonous food." My brother said. We all nodded and Abby handed us our food.

Aiden sat down in front of me and smiled at me. "Wait a second, you two look alike.." Nick said looking at me and Aiden. "That's because we're twin sister and brother. My name is Aiden." My brother said. "Oh, that explains it, so you're the leader of the group here?" Ellis asked.

My brother nodded. "Mhm. What happened to Mom and dad?" And there's the question I was waiting for. "They're gone... They died trying to save me." I said sadly. Aiden started crying and we all hugged him. "I never even met them..." He said through the tears.

It hurts more when you've never even met your real parents. After a whole things calmed down and we talked. "They missed you a lot Aiden. They didn't want to send you away, but they did for your own safety. I don't know why they didn't do the same for me." I said to him. "They probably wanted company." Zoey said softly.
