I looked out the door of the safe room. "The whole town looks flooded." I mumbled softly. Everyone was asleep but me since I couldn't sleep. I had something keeping me up. It wasn't worry or anything, it was a thought. My parents told me I had a twin brother who was born the same way I was, but he didn't live with us. They told me it was because they had a friend of theirs take him away for his own safety. Why didn't they do the same for me though?
"Delilah? Why aren't you getting any rest?" Ellis asked me waking up. "I'm not tired." I said softly. It was a little white lie, but not to far from the truth. "Well we got to travel back to that burger tank so we can signal Virgil." Ellis said. We started waking everyone up.
"I know, but the whole town looks flooded. We could get to that yard sale from the roofs, then we will have to go through the water." I said. "Yeah, but let's climb across the roofs- oh for fuck's sake!" Zoey said as we walked outside. There was a Tank not to far.
We fought it off then climbed over the roofs to where the porch light was. "There's the porch light!" Nick said. Then the rain poured hard down on us. Even the houses that were low to the ground were flooded. As we walked we had trouble seeing. We could barely see two feet in front of us.
We managed to see the ambulance that we passed by earlier. "There's that ambulance, we're not too far from the playground!" Zoey said as we walked to it. I smiled. I'm happy to see that everyone gets along, somewhat. We then saw the play ground.
"There's the playground! Yeah, yeah we're almost to the docks!" Ellis said as we headed to a porch light. "There's a safe room!" I said as we headed towards the door. The storm came hard though and a charger grabbed me. "CHARGER HAS ME!" I yelled as Louis went to save me.
Louis managed to save me but after he did a jockey jumped onto me. "Jockey!" I yelled as he jumped onto my back. Louis knocked him off and killed it then we ran to the safe room. We got in and I closed the door. "Oh yeah! Who's yo mama?! Who's yo daddy?!" Louis yelled as the door was closed.
(I couldn't find a line that Louis says at the end of a chapter, but I thought this one would be good.)
