Louis and I were telling stories to each other until it was my turn to watch with Francis. I got up and waved goodbye to Louis. I then headed outside to Francis. "Hey Francis!" I said smiling. "Hey Del." Francis said leaning against the railing.

"How have you been?" I asked. "I've been well. How are you and Louis doing? You two seem to be getting along very well." Francis asked. I blushed a bit. "Yeah. We're getting along well. We're doing fine." "I see that blush, you like Louis don't you?" Francis teased a bit.

"W-what? No I don't! At least not in the way you're thinking." I said looking at him. I wonder if Zoey is teasing Louis about him getting along with me so well. "Del?" Francis said snapping his fingers. "Oh sorry, spaced out for a moment."

"It's okay, but what were you thinking about?" He asked me. "About what Louis and Zoey are talking about." I said softly. "They are probably talking about what we are." Francis replied. "So I have to ask, what was Bill like?" I asked looking at Francis.

"Oh Bill? He was an amazing old man. He always knew what to do and he took care of us. Like we were family to him. I'm not a fan of cops and the military, but Bill is the only military guy I can stand." Francis said with a gentle smile.

"I bet he was an awesome dude." I said with a smile. "He really was. I'm surprised he kept up with us young folks." Francis said chuckling a bit. "How old was he?" "Maybe about 60? I mean he did fight in the Vietnam War. Maybe we could show you what he looked like before his passing. We still have his body nearby and have been keeping it safe from getting eaten." Francis replied.

"I'd be fine with seeing that. I've seen worse things happen." I said softly. Francis rubbed my shoulder. "If you ever need to talk to someone about anything, we'll be here. Louis, Zoey and I are your friends." He said with a smile. "Thanks Francis. You know, I'm going to try to fix up one of those cars and maybe we can drive away from here. I know you guys aren't necessarily ready for something like that, but we could do that." I said softly.

"That could work, but where would we go?" Francis asked. "Maybe we could try to head to new Orleans? If not, let's try to head to the Mississippi River and go on from there. I'm sure there will be survivors on the other side of the river." I said aloud. "You're really smart you know?" He said with a smile.

It made me blush a bit. "Thanks Francis." "No problem Del." Francis said with a small smile. We continued to watch out for zombies in silence. 'I guess we lost things to talk about since I don't want to bring up family stuff.' I thought.
