Delilah's Adventures

Chapter XIII

"Mud people?" Ellis said looking out the safe room door where there were a few zombies trying to get in. "Yep, mudmen..." I said shooting the zombies at the door. "Well they might blind us with mud if they hit us so lets be careful. Let's try to get over to land right there so we can be safe." Louis suggests which we all agreed to do.

(The line that Ellis says in the paragraph doesn't show up until chapter three of Swamp Fever when they're in the safe room, but I'm trying to make the story interesting.)

"Man all this mud reminds me of my friend Keith. Yeah, he was goin' to build a shack once, to live in and all, and I know most people here, they build houses and they become shacks, but Keith, he was about jumpin' right to the shack stage. But he had no wood. So he got some mud and was makin' what we were all thinkin' was gonna be this adobe bricks, you know, like when them people out west made bricks and shit? Well, he had mud and..." "Ellis, sweetie can this wait?" Rochelle said stopping him.

"Rochelle I think he's just trying to lighten up the mood by telling these stories. Since we're in a zombie apocalypse he's trying to help keep our sanity by telling stories. Like how Louis keeps Francis and Zoey sane by staying positive." I said trying to stand up for Ellis. "I guess I never thought of it like that." Rochelle said softly.

"Besides, when we're in the safe room maybe we should try to relax a bit." Zoey said. I nodded in agreement. "Let's get going. All this mud is going to ruin my white suit." "The one with zombie brains all over it? That one?" Rochelle said teasing Nick.

I giggled a bit and we headed out of the safe room. When we spotted a parachutist Ellis looked up at them. "Damn, why is there a parachutist out here?" He asked thinking. We then saw a crashed plane not to far from where we saw the parachutist. "Damn a whole plane... Well that explains our parachutist." Ellis said looking at the plane.

We had to fight a horde as soon as we opened the emergency door but we were able to fight it off really quick since there was eight of us. We then reached a shack that was mostly in the water. "These here are some real shacks.." Ellis said as we walked through it. There was a chainsaw on the table. Ellis walked over to it and picked it up. "How in the hell does that make sense to me?" I asked looking at Ellis.

He had pouted looking at me. We got to a safe room not to far from there. "There's light on in the village!" Ellis yelled as we headed to the door. Once we all got in Ellis closed the door behind us. "Killer." Zoey said once it closed.

We're safe... For now.
