Ellis's POV
I had a smile on my face. "Before the infection hit Savannah I was going to go see my mom. Keith and Dave were staying at the Savannah heights hotel, the place where I met Nick, Rochelle and Coach. I was always positive and optimistic, but I've always see this apocalypse as a big dare. I know it's a childish thing to think of it as but it's true. When I met Nick and the others I grew to liking all of them fairly quickly. Because my mom had told me that she got out of town and away from ceda prior to when I got to the hotel."
"When I was heading to the hotel, my truck got attacked by a horde of infected. I always carry a pistol with me and a fire axe. I used that axe to get rid of the horde as I ran to where I met up with Nick and the others. During this journey that I've had with them I've learn so much and seen so much. Even though I show this childish perspective towards everything, but that's what people like about me. They like the fact that I light up the room." I said softly. "Is that it love?" Zoey asked.
"Pretty much." I said with a smile. "Oh alright. I thought you were going to talk more about Keith." Zoey said. I shook my head. "No, that's for another time."
Coach's POV
"Savannah, man I miss ya. I used to coach at a high school before the infection hit. I was on a college football team before I got injured badly in my leg. After the injury I became a coach at a high school in Savannah. My real name is actually James. But since I'm always called Coach I just tell people that's my name. When the infection hit I was in Savannah heights hotel with Nick, Rochelle and Ellis heading to the roof so we could get picked up. We got there a minute to late which meant we had to escape a burning building on our own. When I met these three I didn't like Nick's attitude all that much, Rochelle was like a little sister to me and Ellis was like a student to me."
"When we traveled together, hearing some of those stories from Ellis made me think. They made me think about the friends I had when I was younger, around his age. The infection didn't really change me all that much aside that I knew I had to protect my new friends as best I could." I said looking at the fire.
"That reminds me of Bill." Zoey said. I saw a tear run down her cheek. Francis rubbed her back. "We all miss him. It's okay to cry." Francis said to her. She hugged him gently. "I know, I just miss him."
Rochelle's POV
"When I met up with Nick, Coach and Ellis I was working with CEDA in the news. I knew about the reports of the infection and how it spread so quickly. When we were at the top of the hotel we only said nicknames to each other before we got to know each other's names. Ellis playfully called Nick 'Mr. Gambling Man'. Our nicknames for each other didn't stay since we got to know each other's names. Coach still called Nick a nickname. Which is Nicolas."
"The infection didn't change me much aside from the fact that I never really liked guns nor did I ever shoot a gun before. Until I met my group of friends." I said softly. "That's all? Nothing else?" Francis asked. "Nope unless you wanna hear about when we got cola for a gun store owner just so he would clear a path for us." I said with a chuckle.
"Fair point." Francis replied. "Alright Nick, you've been quiet this whole time. What do you have hiding?" I asked him. Nick huffed slightly. It seemed like this was going to be a long story. Longer than Ellis's stories about Keith.
Nick's pov
"Well I'm an escaped convict, though you could already tell that by my reactions to the zombies that were wearing armor. When I escaped jail I looted this white suit, which is not covered in zombie brains anymore, from a fancy and abandoned clothes store. After that I moved down to Savannah, Georgia and met my three companions. When we first met trusting them was going against everything I've learned. I always learned not to trust people no matter what. But as you can tell, that would have gotten me dead." I said softly. "Wow I thought it would be longer." Rochelle said.
"Yeah me too." Ellis said. "Yeah I know, but it wasn't that long of a story because you all already said stories longer than mine. All that I can say is that this apocalypse has changed my morals. That's it." I said calmly. Delilah kissed my cheek which made me smile.
