Chapter Thirty-Two: Yule Ball

Just like that the night before the Yule ball creeped upon and Hermione and Phoenix planned on getting ready together since Hermione will be attending with Cedric which Phoenix has no interest in talking to any time soon. As Hermione, Ginny and Phoenix were happily eating dinner at Ravenclaw's table Fred was back to sleepless nights and this time be broken a mirror with his already broken hand. Fred glanced over and seen the beautiful brown hair girl laughing and smiling and Fred felt butterflies in his stomach. Fred has been thinking of all the ways to try and apologize to Phoenix but sadly for Fred he was never good at apologizes, Devin saw Phoenix sitting with her friends and made a beautiful rose appeared.

"Hey nix" Devin smiled as he walked over to Ravenclaw, Hermione and Ginny looked confused but Phoenix smiled ear to ear

"Hey dev" Phoenix said softly Hermione and Ginny noticed how flushed Phoenix's cheeks were and they both giggled. Phoenix kicked the two under the table and Devin handed her the rose.

"Thought you should have this" Devin said cheerfully Phoenix smiled and smelt the rose

"It's beautiful Devin thank you" Phoenix said cheerfully Hermione cleared her throat and Phoenix looked at the two girls who wanted an explanation

"Dev this is Hermione and Ginny, Ginny and Hermione this is Devin bell" Phoenix said Devin shook the two girls hand and smiled

"It's an honor to meet you both" Devin said kindly Hermione and Ginny smiled at the well mannered Slytherin and asked Devin to join the three.

"So Devin what year are you in?" Hermione asked

"I'm in fifth year and you're selves?" Devin asked Hermione and Ginny giggled and Phoenix felt a wave of embarrassment. Fred watched the whole thing and he clenched onto his dinner roll hard and turned it into a pancake

"Freddie calm down mate" Lee said

"Well look at him he's revolting" Fred scoffed

"Why because he gave her a rose beside Fred you called her that fowl name" George said crossing his arms to his chest and Lee shook his head

"I told you guys I regret saying that she's not like that" Fred said slamming his fist on the table

"Listen quit acting like a toddler and go apologize to her then if you don't want to lose her to that Slytherin" Lee said Fred watched her laughing at something Devin has said. He took a breath and walked over to Phoenix and the others

"Oh hello...F-frank" Devin said Phoenix started laughing to Devin messing up Fred's  name

"It's Fred" he groaned

"Phoenix may we talk?" Fred added Phoenix told Devin to give her a second and the two walked into the entrance hall

"Look I'm sorry Phoenix for everything and especially calling you that fowl name" Fred said Phoenix crossed her arms to her chest

"You mean everything to me Phoenix and I took that for granted and I just want you to know I respect you" Fred added

"Well frank we can be friends" Phoenix said holding her hand out. Fred felt a bit upset about Phoenix putting him in the friend zone but Phoenix was doing this so she didn't get hurt again.

"Yes indeed Mrs. Diggory" Fred said shaking her hand Phoenix hugged Fred and the two headed back into the great hall while Devin was making Ginny and Hermione laugh Phoenix waved goodbye to Fred and the two went back to they're tables.

"So how did it go?" George asked

"Friend zone" Fred groaned into his hands George and Lee patted Fred's back and they went on talking about tomorrow night. Hermione and Ginny left the two alone and Fred shot Ginny a glare Devin smiled at Phoenix who was nervously playing with her fingers
