Katherine tapped her foot on the ground as she sat there, her mind racing as she wondered what was going to happen. This audition could put her own broadway, all she had to do was beat out thousands of other actresses and singers that were just as talented as she was, or maybe even more.
There was nothing that she could do to calm her racing heart, the script that her agent had given her was clutched tightly in her hands as she waited patiently for her name to be called.
The auditions were being held in an empty theatre, and as she sat outside the theatre doors, she tried to pretend that she was just going to her favorite show.
She must have coughed her throat at least fifteen times in the past five minutes, just to be safe that her voice would not fail her.
Kathrine knew that there were only two things standing in the way of her dream, first, she had to nail this audition, and then she had to pass the chemistry test.
The door to her right suddenly opened and a kind looking man walked out, his arm extended towards her as Katherine quickly stood up and shook his hand.
"Hi," she greeted with a smile when she let go of his hand "Katherine Sharp, I'm here to audition for the role of-"
"Satine" the man smiled brightly at her "I know, we've been expecting you"
Nodding her head awkwardly, she followed the man inside the theatre doors, her breath being stolen as she glanced over at the stage.
No matter how many times she saw a theatre, it always felt like the first time, and Katherine had a feeling that it always would be like that. The rush of excitement she got when she looked over at that stage was a feeling that she never wanted to lose.
"Are you nervous?" the man asked her slowly, watching as she looked over at him with wide eyes.
"Honest answer?" she asked him, seeing him nod his head with a grin "I am incredibly nervous, I have a lot riding on this"
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, we were all impressed when your agent sent over the tapes of your previous works" the man told her, Katherine letting out a breath of relief "besides, you have to whole look down"
