The first days in Boston had gone by in a flash. With the entire cast practicing and perfecting every single line and move, they did not have much time for anything else. Every day would be the same. Katherine would wake up, go to practice, and by the time she got to the hotel, she would be much too exhausted to do anything else.
The day she went to see the set for the first time was spectacular. Katherine and Aaron had seen pictures and designs of it before, but when they actually got to Boston and saw everything that had been built just for their show, it amazed them.
The details that the set designers had put in to make everything blew her away. Everything screamed "Moulin Rouge" and Katherine could not wait to perform on that stage.
However, now that it was actually the time for the opening night, she was starting to regret looking forwards to it. The nerves at the pit of her stomach were making her pace nervously around her dressing room.
Her first costume was carefully hung up, waiting for her to put it on. She still had about one hour until she had to be on stage, but Katherine felt like the clock was moving too quickly and she was unable to catch up.
Not to mention the fact that soon enough, her parents and sister would be heading into the theatre to watch her perform. Katherine was just glad that she would not have to deal with her mother before going on stage. Nonetheless, the idea that the woman would be carefully watching her, inspecting for any mistake that Katherine could make sent her into a frenzy.
Heading out of her dressing room to get some air, Katherine walked over to the stage, looking at how everyone was walking around and trying to get everything in the proper place. She turned her gaze up, glancing at the trapeze swing that was balancing from the ceiling, and once more, nerves washed over her.
She had always known that her entrance would take place on a trapeze swing. But Katherine had brushed that worry off until the last minute. Now, she started thinking of everything that could go wrong.
They had tested out the swing once with her in it when they had done dress rehearsals and everything had gone smoothly. Still. now the stakes were higher, and the idea of being balanced on a trapeze swing for her first-ever musical premier made her queasy.
