Katherine had been casually lounging about her house, her hair thrown up in a ponytail on top of her head and her earphones in as she relaxed and read a book. She had been worrying herself over the audition for five days now, wondering how it had gone seeing as she had received zero news.
Waiting was the worst part, being torn up over wether it went well. At first Katherine had been fully confident that her audition had gone perfectly, but the more she waited and sat around by herself, the more she convinced herself that maybe she had done something wrong.
Charles had been incredibly busy with work the past few week so she barely saw him, nonetheless, he had told her to go out and have fun, distract herself.
The first two days had been fine, she had gone out for walks, visited some different cafes to find her favorite, and even gotten a gym membership card, although she doubted that she would actually go to the gym.
But when the third day with no news, nothing, came by, she couldn't help the slight anxiety wash over her. She must have watched about fifteen different movies and she had read an entire book already, the boredom creeping up on her.
Suddenly, the sound of the phone ringing made her abruptly sit up on her couch, clutching her chest as it started beating vastly after the loud noise.
Katherine stared at the phone for a few seconds, seemingly in a trance as she braced herself for what it might be before she reached for it and saw an unknown number was calling her.
Answering the call, Katherine brought her phone up to her ear and took steady breaths before she spoke up.
"This is Katherine Sharp" she spoke quietly "who may I ask is calling?"
"Katherine!" a voice rang out, the woman realizing that she recognized the voice but not knowing exactly who it was "this is John Lewis, we met at your initial audition, I greeted you at the theatre doors?"
"Oh!" she spoke loudly before composing herself "yes, I remember"
"Well I spoke to your agent and I got your number," he continued, Katherine hanging on to every single word he said "because, well you probably remember how we spoke to you about the chemistry test right?"
