"Mae please come to the bonfire" Newt followed close behind me begging me to come to the bonfire like I've told him for the millionth time I don't feel up to it today but no he doesn't listen
"No"I simply reply
"What-what do you mean no?!"He insists
"I mean No do you want to hear it in Spanish? Noh!"I quickly answer not looking at his annoyed impression
"Since when did you know Spanish?!"
"Since you started to annoy me which was the day I came here,so if you could be so kind and stop bugging me I'd really appreciate it"I walk further away from him
"And your not gonna change my mind Blondie"I turns my head and saluted to him before walking into homestead "Fine I'll get someone who will"Newt mumbles
Newts POV
I walk to the map room seeing my favourite Runner
no offence Minho....scrap that
"Tommy! what's up?!"Thomas Scoffs "What do you want Newt?"The brown haired boy asks already regretting answering him
"I need you to change Mae's mind on going to the bonfire tonight"I said putting my hands on my hips
"If you want Mae to go to the bonfire ask Minho to convince her"Thomas admitted I throw my hands into the air
"And where the shuck is he!?"I shout making Thomas roll his eyes "In the kitchen eating a sandwich,where else?"He tells me as if it was obvious I sigh
"I was just there okay fine thank you"I quickly walk to the kitchen and find Minho at one of the tables with Ben eating his lunch
"Minho! What's up?!"I slide in next to him "What is it Newt I'm kinda busy"Minho tells me taking a bite out his sandwich
"Well your gonna be more busy I need you to convince Mae to come to the bonfire tonight"
"Why?"
"Because I have someone for her to meet and I want to surprise her"
"Is it a puppy?!"Minho exclaims "What? No it's the new greenie Chuck she some how slept through the greenie alarm so I'm going to introduce them she's always wanted a little brother"
"Aw your boring"I sarcastically smile before turning to Ben
"What do you think? Can you ask her come to the bonfire please"I insist "Why don't you ask her best friend"
"Which is who?"
"Wow you really know the girl you love don't you"Minho jokes "Would you shut up I'm not asking you, Ben help please"
"He's right you love a girl you hardly know and you want to give her a child as a gift"I scratch the back of my neck "Okay how do I get to know her?"
"Take her to the bonfire"
"You know this whole conversation just went in a big bloody circle and I'm not even a inch closer to what I was achieving"
"Then why are you still here shuckface?" Minho asks I roll my eyes standing up
"Go to the med jack hut and Find Clint or Jeff they're Mae's best friend"Ben tells me before I limp off towards the med-jack hut I see Jeff cleaning up one of the boy's arms
"Jeff my mate!"I sit down on the bed next to the boy I say a quick hi before turning my attention on Jeff
"Hey Newt whats up?"Jeff asks unraveling a new bandage "Can you convince Mae to come to the bonfire please you are my last hope I really need her to go"
"Why? I thought she said she didn't want to go" "Yes she doesn't but I need her to be there please just bloody convince her"
"And what do I get if I do?" "A week off"I tell him He taps the boy's shoulder telling him silently he can leave the boy gets up mumbling a quick thanks before leaving
"I'll do as long as I get extra bacon as well as the week off"I nod frantically "Deal! Done thank you!"I get up and run out
At the Bonfire Mae POV
Thank you Jeff! Jeff managed to convince me to go to the bonfire and I'm happy he did Newt introduced me to the new Greenie Chuck he's just the sweetest boy Besides Newt of course
Chuck and I are dancing to the music the boys are playing I somehow trip over my own feet as I am the clumsiest person on the planet and fall into someone
i look up to see brown eyes Newt's brown eyes I look down seeing I've spilt his Moonshine aka Gally's secret recipe
"I'm so sorry I'll get you a new drink and I'll clean your clothes I'm so sorry!"I ramble making an attempt to get up he laughs as I stand up
keep yourself together Mae!
"It's okay Love,it's only a little spill"I blush with a smile on my face
good job of keeping your self together
"Your cute when you blush"Newt tells me "Thank you,well I'm going to save a life time of embarrassment and walk away bye Newt"I go to walk away and find Chuck again since he left but Newt grabs onto my arm
"Why would you be embarrassed?" "Well you kinda make me nervous and I don't want to embarrassed myself in front of you and I know i will because well I'm me"He chuckles
"I wanted to tell you something and this is where I embarrass myself but Uh I like you"he flushes a bright red probably the colour of my face as well
"I guess the feeling is mutual"He smiles and looks down
"Well Um would you maybe wanna be my girlfriend or something like that"he stutters looking back up at me
"I'd like that"I smile
"Me too"I giggle
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow Boyfriend"I kiss his cheek before walking towards my hut in the corner of my eye I see Newt fist bump the air
