Elyza
When I walked into the art classroom, all eyes turned to me, including Mr. Destler's. His face was expressionless, but all the confusion, shock, and anger, in his eyes. "Sorry I'm late, Mr. Destler." He dismissed me. "Fine. Do you have a corridor pass", his voice was cold, I knew I was in trouble. "N-no... but", I held up the clip-board, "I came from the office." "Obviously. You are going to write an essay on tardiness and why you should not be sent to the office. You've missed a very large portion of my class." I went to my seat and threw my books down, too angered to say anything. "Have it on my desk tomorrow morning." I rolled my eyes. Why was he being so cold to me? "For that crude gesture, three-hundred words." I stared at him, shocked. "Yes, sir." It was just not my day. And why was he being so horrible? Since I had missed most of the class, the bell rang a few minutes later. I sighed and went to my next class, avoiding his gaze.
In detention at the end of the day...
ElyzaAs I approached the detention room, I took a few deep breaths, then I entered. There were three people I didn't know sitting in the back of the room. I removed the clip-board from my neck and set it on the teacher's desk, with all the others before taking a seat in the first seat in the front row. It was silent and was like that for a whole hour. It was the worst experience of my entire life.
On the ride home, after detention, I tried to suppress my anger. But, that wasn't going too well because apparently, I had been stabbing holes in the paper I was writing on. "I do not appreciate having to stay an hour after work just so you can serve detention. Next time, you will walk and Liz-Marie and I will see you when you arrive", Erik said to me. I huffed, irritated. "Why were you in detention anyway", my sister asked. I shrugged. "I don't really want to talk about it. But are you seriously gonna make me write that essay?" Erik looked at me as if to say, 'of course not.' "No", was all he said. "Thanks.. y'know for staying after school and not making me write an essay." He nodded. "But, I will make you do an extra assignment." "Fine, but you should know, it wasn't my fault, the detention." He chuckled. "I know."
I apologise for the crappiness of this chapter. :/
