Erik

Dear Mr. Destler,
May I come to you next free period? I really need to talk to you...
Sincerely Yours,
Elyza

I bit a malformed lip and stuffed the paper into my waistcoat pocket, feeling the other, earlier note I'd written. I hadn't even noticed the sixth grade class come into the room. "Mr. Destler? Mr. Destler!" I glared down at a skinny, pale girl. Elyza's younger sister, Liz-Marie, I believed. She looked so similar, yet so different to and from her. Large green eyes, dark, yet curly hair, but no spectacles. "Yes, Ms. Reagan", I hadn't meant to sneer at her, but I did. She seemed suddenly afraid and I sighed. I took a deep breath and repeated the sentence more gently. "I-I just wanted to know if you could help me with my painting..." "Yes, of course." I walked over to the table in long strides. Liz-Marie sat where her elder sister did, due to her last name. I looked down at her painting which was one of herself and her sister. I smiled. "It's lovely. How can I help?" "Elyza doesn't look like Elyza..." It was true. Her painting did no justice to Elyza's perfect shape. I picked up a pencil and began drawing a sketch of Elyza on another piece of paper. "Here."
