Chapter 33

I am far too lazy too type a disclaimer so... here.

No-one

When they entered the large house on the other side of town, Elyza and Liz-Marie ran straight to their bedrooms, too tired to do anything. Erik, however, went to the sitting room and began working on paperwork. He took off his mask and rubbed his temples, sighing as he, reluctantly got started. He wondered lazily about Elyza and about what she could have possibly done to receive detention. He wondered about the younger sister who was probably upstairs doing her homework with her eyebrows crinkled in confusion. Erik shook his head and continued working, then went to grade sketches for the eleventh grade, Elyza's grade. He ended up failing most of the class for their poor unorganisation skills. Elyza was the only one to receive the highest grade. He couldn't tell if it was favouritism. But, she had definitely deserved it. Her work was always perfect. He drew a smiley face on the corner of the paper and set it aside.

Elyza

I lay in my bedroom with the door slightly ajar, listening to music. Classical, The Blues, Rock, and showtunes were my favourite genres of music. I loved old music, however. I owned tons of cassette tapes, but I had never listened to them. They held mysteries that I was saving to solve later on in life for something-- or someone special. I paused my music and walked over to my piano and began playing a medley of my favourite musical, softly singing along.
