Layla's POV

"So the rest two of you, you'll train a bit with Yuri and I and Layla you," Leo turned to face me and I looked at him furrowing my brows cause my arm still ached from the grasp of Sinn's hand.

"You'll be under Sinn as he said." I looked at him still pissed, "Why do I need to? Can't you or Yuri take me under them? My arm's still hurting from his grip." I told him as I massaged it.

Leo sighed, "Trust me Layla I would've helped you if I could, but Sinn just doesn't take anyone under him. He's seen something which made him think that. And for what just happened, well he was testing your self-defense, and to be honest you still need to work on it." Leo started and I listened to him. He did make sense cause with just a single blow he tackled me and left me helpless.

"And in the missions you'll be accompanying us, you'll need to protect yourself on your own. It would be a life and death situation so don't feed on a small thing like that and just focus on your task. Sinn seems like an ass and I mean he is one, but I promise you, he's not a bad guy and he'll train you in a way that you'll notice a change in yourself." Leo gave me a small smile and I nodded my head.

I mean I don't know what kind of a person Sinn maybe but I'll just take what Leo said and focus on the training. Cause my goal is to get stronger so that I'm able to save my mother and face my cruel father.

"Okay fine I get it but I'm telling you if he pisses me off and tries to order me around I won't just stay still!" I told Leo my eyes filled with rage and he just chuckled at me and patted my head.

"Oh, Layla yeah deal with him however you want." Leo smiled and I saw his light green eyes sparkle as he smiled. He seems like a flirtatious man but not one time did I feel uncomfortable by the way he talked to me.

"Okay then you better hurry cause Sinn must be waiting for you and he doesn't like waiting," Leo told me and turned me around and gave me a slight push towards the door.

My eyes met with Mattheo's who was smirking at me and I glared at him as I approached him. "You better hurry to your new master Rebel." He laughed and I frowned at him when he called me by the same name as Sinn before.

"You better shut your fucking mouth Theo if you wanna live!" I raised my hand to punch him and he protected his head from me. "Woah Woah calm down now Layla I was just joking." He said and I dropped my hands beside me as I push my hair away from my face feeling frustrated.

"Watch yourself cause once I'm done with this stupid ass training, I'll beat your ass." I pointed my finger at him and he chuckled, "Yeah sure Layla now go." He told me and I rolled my eyes at him as I went out the door fuming with anger.

I passed the corridor and went towards a slightly open door. Thinking this might be the room I neared it and held the doorknob feeling the coldness of it creep my palm.

My heart was thudding in my rib cage but I didn't know whether it was due to my anger or just the fact that Sinn Phoenix would be training me himself. Like Mattheo put it, he was now my master.

I pushed the door and heard a slight creak in the process. Entering it I was welcomed with darkness around me. The room was eerily quiet and I was about to turn around and leave thinking it was the wrong room when I heard, "I'm letting it slide just this time but I don't wait."

Sinn's strong voice said and I felt goosebumps erupt in my body suddenly the lights turned on and Sinn's figure was visible through the room. He stood in a corner and I noticed him giving me the same cold stare like he always did.

"I was-" I'm cut off by his finger signaling me something. I furrowed my brows together cause I didn't know what he meant by that.

"Huh?" That was all I could say as I saw him staring or more like glaring at me. "Start, counter back my attacks." He stated simply before he started to come towards me.

I observed his every movement cause I don't want him to win against me. I readied my fists to punch him but then I felt an arm snake around my waist and pulling me up in the air I'm turned around and slammed down but felt a soft leather surface underneath me.

I opened my eyes and raised my head to find Sinn standing beside me, staring down at me with no sign of emotion.

"What the f-" I'm not able to complete my sentence, "You don't have time to talk back. Come on try to defend yourself against my attacks once more." He told me simply and I looked at him in disbelief.

But anyhow, I still stood up, and brushing away my clothes I stood straight and got in position to fight back. He stared at me.

Concentrate Layla. Don't let this man win again. You have to counter back or even just defend yourself from his attacks just for now. That much would be fine for now. I lectured myself in my head as I focused on the man before me who looked at me through calculating gaze.

But then boom. I'm met with the leather mattress once again as my face hits the cool surface. I grunt and got up exhaling, trying not to lose my shit cause if I burst at him I'm done for.

I flipped my hair away and stared at him as he was standing staring down at me. I couldn't help the frown on my face cause he stood like he didn't just slam me on the ground twice already.

"You're slow, get up." His voice spoke out and I gripped my palm into tight fists. I got up once again and pulled away my hair from my face. I once again focused on the target in front of me. Sinn had his hands in his pockets and in a flash, I'm once again thrown down.

I laid on the mattress, my body refused to cope with me. It was sore from the continuous training which only consisted of Sinn flipping me over and that happening on loop. I have lost count now.

I heard the sound of a lighter opening and the next thing the smell of cigarettes filled the room and entered my nostrils making me go back into my past.

"The fuck do you think you're doing?" My father muttered as I tried to punch back the trainer who was training me. I had a high fever but that didn't let my father from not training me. He especially went hard on me cause he said I was doing poorly and such a loser I am.

"I have other important things to attend to, don't waste my time and show me what you got." My father lit his cigarette and took a whiff from it, blowing it which filled my lungs with the poisonous smoke.

Out of nowhere the coughs which I was suppressing came and I couldn't help them. I fucking hated cigarettes.

"Stop coughing like a crazy girl and show me what you got." My father said once again. He took yet another blow out of his freshly lit cigarette.

I was panting heavily, my hands resting around my kneecaps as I tried to catch my breath. I have been training here non stop and my father didn't let me take a break for even a moment.

"Come on now girl!" He snarled and suddenly all I could focus on was a two-faced figure before me. My vision blurred and I couldn't differentiate between who was who as I felt my body not support me anymore.

I gripped my hands tightly, feeling a wave of rage in me just by thinking about my father. I smacked my fist against the mattress under me and tried to get up. I supported my body through my hand by putting my knee up and finally stood up stumbling on my way.

Sinn stared at me. He didn't stop smoking his cigarette. I stared at him with fire in my eyes cause in this moment, I could only focus on the cigarette in his hand and the hate I have for that thing at how much it reminded me of my father.

I strode at him with my fist, raising my hand and tried to attack him, but my wrist is caught just in time making me get back to my senses.

I stared at Sinn's cold grey eyes which looked at me. I glared back at him, breathing heavily from all the training I have been getting from him.

"You finally did it. But you'll need to work ten more years to punch me with these tiny fists." He glanced at my fist and back at me before he let go of it.

"You're dismissed for today." He stated as he tossed out his cigarette and left me alone in the training room, leaving me staring at his retreating figure.

The room though remained with the smell of cigarette mixed with his strong cologne.
