Layla's POV

I started walking to be by his side and noticed how the only ones with guns were Astor guards while the men from the mafia had knives with them and other weapons to hit them with making it painful.

And even if the Astor guards had guns which would be seen as an advantage, the mafia men were the ones with the upper hand.

I saw how one of the men hit 2 to 3 guards at the same time with a metal bar multiple times making his bones crack and leaving him not being able to walk or move an inch all the while dodging the bullets.

My eyes widened acknowledging the turmoil before me. It wasn't my first time experiencing someone getting hit but this, this was so much different and gruesome.

And it wasn't even a half of what was about to come next.

When I finally came by Sinn's side, he still had his gun aiming at Beth and the rest of the Astor family stood holding their breaths.

A loud noise was heard from the entrance and more fighting began. I was confused for a minute but then my eyes searched the room and landed on two tall figures who were standing out from among the crowd.

Three, I must say as the other was just beside me.

Leo and Yuri had rather made a spectacular entrance as they took out 10 to 15 people all at once. Leo had with him a long pointed stick thing which almost seemed like those fencing swords, but the only difference was that he was inserting it through living humans and pulling it out making huge piles of blood spill all over the elegant ballroom.

Yuri had with him his katana, very Yuri of him as he swung it around cutting off the poor guards enjoying as he did.

It didn't take them more than five minutes when they came to where Sinn and I were standing. And the people around them made way for the two, scared for their dear lives that these men would tear them apart very literally. They fought the other mafia men instead.

"Sinn, Layla," Leo said, his tone much calmer than I would've preferred it to be seeing the bloodshed he caused with his sharp weapon.

"We don't have much time, we must wipe them out before he gets here," Leo said to Sinn and he frowned and looked Leo's way.

"I know," Sinn muttered and turned his head towards Yuri.

"You have it?" He asked and Yuri widened his eyes as his other hand which didn't hold his katana went behind him and pulled out something.

"How could I forget such a thing," Yuri said and my eyes landed on the huge sword which he raised and Sinn held it, circling his fingers around it casually as if it were a baseball bat and he was going for batting.

He aimed the gun down and put it back from where he took it out as four of his men came and aimed the gun at the Astor family instead. It equaled four more men holding the family hostage while only one Sinn did it on his own.

"Let's start," Leo let out and Yuri nodded while Sinn had a dangerous look on his face which alone would kill the rest.

He turned to face me and I pulled the statue closer to me. I felt intimidated by this man standing in front of me, not that he was any different from before but still his demeanor had turned even darker that if you go near him, you'll be consumed in his darkness.

But what can I say, I have made best friends with the darkness since I came into this earth.

"Stay here and protect the statue." His words told me to protect the statue but his eyes said otherwise. It told me to protect myself at all cost and follow the order he gave me.

I get now why he made me go and get the statue cause now that it was in my custody all the men from the mafia would have to protect me too so that it's not damaged.

Sinn fucking Phoenix you are one hell of a man.

He then walked away without another word or glance and the rest two walked beside him. Sinn was the tallest among the two, and it wasn't that they were short, no. It is that Sinn Phoenix is just a beast of a man.

Sinn walked in front of him and I noticed how without even gazing at the man about to attack him he swung his sword, slashing the guy's body and making him bleed to death.

The rest two were already doing their part, cutting their blade through the guard's bodies while dodging their bullets simultaneously.

Their bullets didn't even graze the skin of these three yet their blade managed to pierce right through their body and tear their organs apart.

At this point, the whole ballroom was filled in with the blood of the Astor family's guards but still, men were coming in and I didn't know how they would end them all before whoever 'he' they talked about came here.

But well, I was surprised yet again when all three of them took multiple people at one point, and even though they were firing their guns relentlessly they still didn't reach them while they all died mercilessly.

Especially Sinn now that he had united with his sword, he took 25 people together and slashed all of them without a single scratch but only the blood spilling over him from the people he killed made him look even more vicious than he already was.

Sinn's gaze locked on mine, I had my focus only on him now as he didn't stop. But while his eyes were on me, he tear apart yet another man with his sword blood drops spilling over his face.

I unconsciously gripped tighter on my dagger. Seems like my dagger got a partner right there.

And in no time it was only the mafia's men and the Three Devils standing among the dead bodies of the Astor family guards and their blades painted with their blood.

A loud movement was heard from the entrance and swarmed hundreds of people all wearing black suits and having guns and weapons on them.

I would've mistaken them for the Astor guards but when they bowed down their heads, I knew it was that man they were talking about.

Footsteps hit the floor and it echoed in the ballroom as a small figure entered through the gates.

He had a cigar in his mouth as his white hairs were perfectly made. He wasn't that small but compared to the other men and the Three Devils, he seemed relatively small in height.

His clean black suit seemed expensive as well as his shiny shoes. The man was old, probably in his late 60 seeing the wrinkles on his face and hands but he still radiated power from the way he carried himself that even I would think before messing with him.

His eyes were bored as he walked and stopped in front of the Three Devils. But the thing that made me widen my eyes a bit in surprise was when they fell to their knees together and placed their forearm on their knees, their eyes facing the floor as they greeted him with respect.
