Layla's POV

The boss guy pulled on my hair making me look up at him.

My eyes screwed shut from the pain that it caused. I tried thinking of ways to get out of my situation but when the beanie guy stumbling, stood in front of me, all chances of escaping them seem impossible.

"I'll pay you back for that kick girl," the beanie guy said, his voice hoarse from still being in pain and I couldn't help but smile, seeing his state. He glared at me and slapped my face, the pressure of it made my face fall back down.

I coughed, the chain guy never let go of my arms. I licked away the blood from the cut on my lip which the slap caused. My eyes fell on a shiny thing and I noticed my dagger laying on the ground, out of my reach. If only I had it.

The boss guy stood in front of me, pushing aside the beanie guy who was busy glaring down at me. "Let me deal with the girl my way." He grabbed my jaw as he made me look at him.

I slowly met my gaze with his and found him smirking. Guys like them didn't scare me anymore. I've encountered men like him almost my whole life. But still, there was this uneasy feeling in my stomach.

"I'm going to-" he was cut off by the sound of the bullet which made him scoot down. The rest of the guys looked towards where the noise came from and I squinted my eyes noticing three, tall figures walking my way.

It was dark, that it was almost impossible to point out who they were. But the faint light from the other side only gave out the figure of three men walking my way.

They were all probably in suits from the outline in the shadows, but the one in the middle seemed to be wearing an oversized coat. Like a bulb went off in my head, I knew exactly who they were.

"The Three Devils," the boss guy mumbled. His voice trembled towards the end in fear, "It's them."

Just then another bullet noise echoed through the dim alleyway as the moon was the only source of light. The three figures came into view and I noticed Leo, Yuri, and in the middle of them, Sinn standing before us with a grim look that sent a shiver down my spine.

The one who pulled the trigger was Leo, from the gun in his hand as the smoke came out from it. The three of them looked at the guys standing, before Sinn's eyes locked with mine.

And as they did, I felt as if all the weight from me had lifted, no longer feeling the slightest bit of anxiety that was starting to creep into my system.

His cold silver eyes looked right into my soul before his lips moved, "Leave her." His voice ice-cold, like the one which makes you shudder in fear. And the look on his face didn't help much.

The chain guy instantly let go of my arms and I fell forward from it, balancing myself by placing my hands on the ground. My hairs were all over the place, I had my head hanging as I tried regaining my breathing.

These guys were taking retreating steps. I noticed the boss guy stepping backward, already planning on running away.

"Move and you'll find a bullet in between your eyes," Leo muttered, showing off the gun in his hand and they all immediately stopped on their tracks.

"Which gang are you from?" Yuri asked, his tone serious and not like how it was previously when I talked with him. All three of their demeanor had totally changed which showed they were under mafia mode.

"C-Charlie's." The boss guy stuttered and I noticed Sinn staring at him through his silver eyes. "Charlie?" Leo asked, and I noticed a small wicked smirk on his face. "We've been searching for you," Leo announced and I noticed these guys shaking with fear.

"You've been problematic, better finish you off here," Yuri smirked. All 5 men kneeled before them behind me, cause I was still on the floor. I glanced at them and the previous smug look on their faces had washed off with a petrified look.

"Please don't kill us, we'll not cause any more problems from now." The boss guy begged them with his hands. Leo and Yuri smirked slightly, on the other hand, Sinn just glared at them.

5 bullet noises echoed through the alley, followed by the wincing and screaming of people. I turned my head and found them holding onto their arm as blood seeped out of it. I snap my head to those three and found Sinn's gun pointing at them, smoke oozing out of it now.

Yuri and Leo walked towards those men, as a few other people, which I recognized worked for these three including Mattheo and Luca, joined them and dragged those 5 men out of the alleyway.

Leo started talking to one of the people who worked for him and Yuri was on a call with someone as he said something. I heard someone's footsteps and when I turned to look at who it was, my eyes landed on shiny leather boots.

I trailed my eyes up to their face and found Sin staring down at me. "Someone's hurt," there was a slight hint of tease in his voice which was almost impossible to notice if I weren't so focused on him.

His face though, as the moonlight hit it, was void of any emotion. It was like I was staring at a flawless statue that had no imperfections on him. Everything was perfect yet there still was something missing.

He let out his hand towards me and pointed at it through his eyes when I didn't respond. I was so mesmerized by his silver eyes which were even more beautiful under the moonlit sky that I forgot to respond.

I placed my hand in his without any arguments cause I was too weak at this point. As soon as my hands met his, its warmth enveloped me in and he gripped my hand in his tightly as he pulled it, making me stand up to my feet.

But in the process, my knees grew weak, making me fall forward but, my face instead landed on his firm chest. His chest grew tense like they're not used to this type of contact but still, he didn't push me away, and neither did he back away from me.

I sighed, feeling the warmth of his body welcome me. The tiredness from before crashed on me like a million bricks, making my eyes grew heavy.

Keeping them open seemed hard now that his warmth felt so good and comforting. We just stood there as I started drifting off to my slumber. But before I did, I couldn't help but let out these two words,

"Thank you," I mumbled. The beating of his heart, I could hear it from this position and it only helped me ease.

He didn't say anything. Instead, as my eyes grew heavy, I felt a firm arm wrap around my back, pulling me towards them.
