Layla's POV

"These are your fake identity cards to let you through the security." Leo handed both of us our identity cards and I looked at mine.

It had my picture on it but the details were different, my eyes though especially landed on a specific detail.

"Rosie Vanetti? Why does her name have to be this it doesn't suit me at all." I looked over at him from the card and Leo, Yuri and Sinn gave me a look.

"You're here caring for a name that isn't even yours?" Yuri scoffed and I furrowed my eyebrows as I traced the edges of the card. "It will be mine for a while."

He shook his head and glanced at Sinn, "Man I think your concerns were solid, I'm having second thoughts over here." I glared at him and then my eyes met with Sinn's and I found him staring at me already. His eyes were as though he was studying me closely like I'm some math problem he was solving.

"You don't need to worry, I'll be there," Sinn replied, his tone was relatively calm but still his voice was a kind that would wake you up from a dazed state. It was fucking deep. His eyes didn't leave mine and I felt this slight shiver run over my body.

"Okay now Yuri you heard him, you don't need to worry it's not the first time we're infiltering," Leo said and my eyes shifted at him.

Yeah, right it's not their first time.

"I filled you in with all the details and will keep you updated while you're in there. I guess that's all, you both will leave for there tomorrow." Leo finished and all three of them were about to leave when I stopped them.

"Wait, I have one last question," I told him and they stopped and turned around and in the process, I scanned them all. Leo wore his suit, his sleeves were rolled back showing his tattoos. Yuri was also wearing his suit and his nicely done hair was now messed up because of how many times he ran his hand through them.

And Sinn, we talked about him before and he was still in his black sweater as a few strands of his hair fell over his forehead. His silver eyes made contact with mine once again and they left me flustered for a second.

"You had a question, Layla?" Leo interrupted my thoughts and I got out of them and glanced at him. "I forgot, I'll ask you once I remember." He nodded his head as they walked away.

I just fucking forgot what my question was just because of Sinn Phoenix's gaze?
___________

It was past midnight now and I was outside by the entrance of our new place admiring the moon as it shined brightly at me.

My mom used to tell me that whenever I had a lot going on in my head and I can't think clearly, I should look at the moon and it'll help me clear out my thoughts.

She said it's what she did whenever she had a lot going on and the moon was like her companion on days when she felt she was all by herself. My father of course was of no help and well, he was the main cause of whatever problem she had in the first place.

But today, even the moon can't help my thoughts as it's covered in clouds.

I leaned over at the pillar which was in the corner of the entrance and continued gazing at it. It's as my mom said, even though half of it is covered in clouds I can't help but stare at it. It helps me relax.

"Can't sleep?" My thoughts were interrupted as Leo came to stand beside me. He was still wearing the suit from before which indicated he was still working.

"Nah, just chilling for a bit. What about you, still working?" I asked him instead and he smiled, "Just got finished, I was heading up when I saw the main door unlocked and well you were here." He told me.

"You nervous about tomorrow?" He suddenly asked me and I looked at him feeling like telling him the truth.

"A little bit? Well, it's my first ever mission with the Three Devils and that of infiltering into someone's mansion while pretending to be Sinn Phoenix's, I mean Victor Vinci's fiancé just to steal a gold statue. You can't blame me to be a teeny tiny bit nervous now can you."

Leo chuckled at my confession as he looked at me after he was done, "You are something aren't you?" He told me, "What? I was just telling the truth." Leo continued chuckling and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"And like I told you before, we're not stealing it, it was ours from the start." He corrected me again and I rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah, they were the ones who actually stole it I get it."

"It's been a long time since I had a good laugh the last being you singing that weird Japanese song which Yuri had to translate." Leo now sobered up from his laugh completely but he still had a smile on his face.

"We don't talk about that thing. It scarred me for life." I felt the embarrassment creep all over again when I thought about my stupidity in singing that song in the presence of a Japanese man who's one of my bosses.

"You're a breath of fresh air in here where we are all suffocated because of the mafia. It's really pleasant to have you around Layla." Leo told me and it felt genuine.

"I know I'm the best!" I joked cause I don't know how to take compliments and we both laughed. "No, you have no idea how different everything is since you came here. Especially Sinn." I felt something funny in my stomach at the mention of his name and whatever I was thinking or feeling went away as the only thought I had was of him.

I looked over at Leo and he had his arms crossed over his chest as he stared at the sky cause the moon was completely covered by the clouds leaving no sign of it.

"You're the only person who dares to talk to him the way you do and get away with it. If it were someone else, they would die in seconds." I looked at him confused, "What do you mean only I can get away with it?" I asked him and he glanced my way.

"You still can't see how he looks at you?" His words further left me puzzled as I furrowed my eyebrows. "I don't understand what you're talking about." He smiled as he put his hands in his pockets now.

"I'm no one to say anything, you'll understand in time." He was leaving when I stopped him suddenly remembering the question I had to ask.

"Wait! I remember what I had to ask." He looked over at me and waited.

"What about the original Victor Vinci and Rosie Vanetti? What if they show up out of nowhere?" I don't know how I forgot such an important question just because of Sinn Phoenix's eyes.

He gave me a small smile, "You don't need to worry about that, we have that under control. I'd say go to bed and dream about Sinn." I widened my eyes at his comment at the end

"Hey, what do you mean by that!" I called out to him and he chuckled walking away.

"Have fun dreaming about Sinn, Layla." He disappeared from my vision as I yelled, "Hey, hey!" But it was of no use as he didn't stop.

I fell back against the pillar in frustration as I pulled back my hair which flew on my face in the process.

I gazed up at the sky and the moon was now once again reflecting its light on me as if mocking me that it's free from the clouds which are now clouding my line of thoughts.

An; another update cause its my birthday today :)
