Layla's POV

I jerked off his hands from me like they were the dirtiest thing in this world and backed away from him towards the window.

A small shriek escaped my mouth in the way and I noticed Sinn take out his gun and point over at Spencer's forehead.

"I've been noticing you troubling her all along," Sinn spoke for the first time in this car ride, his tone sharp and cold which could easily cut you apart.

"I've been ignoring you it doesn't mean you could keep on doing as you please. Her right here is a part of my team, and I won't tolerate any type of mistreatment of my people. Know your limits, is that clear?" For the first time I saw fear in Spencer as Francis behind us and the guy with Sinn both looked at him in terror that he might not pull the trigger. But a part of me wanted him to.

Spencer nodded his head as he replied with, "Yes." To which Sinn retreated his gun back and ordered the guy beside him. "Go sit at the passenger seat. Layla, I want you here." He ordered and the guy immediately went ahead and sat in the passenger seat without any arguments with the car moving at its average speed.

I was more than happy that I wouldn't have to sit with this guy any longer so I stood up and made my way beside him while holding onto the seat to balance myself. As soon as I reached the seat I slipped as the car hit a rock making me lose my balance but I'm saved as Sinn's hand grabbed mine firmly making me regain my balance.

I felt an eerie spark when he held my hand, and it wasn't for the first time I felt this way when we both were in contact. My eyes met Sinn's and he looked back at me with his silver eyes.

I finally sat down, my heart beating frantically as I was just about to fall over. "Thanks," I mumbled to him. And he just nodded at me once without looking at me. "It's my duty." He replied.

Duty or not, I'm just overall glad that he made this move and I don't have to sit with that motherfucker for the rest of the ride.

"How long is it till we reach the place?" I asked him. He had a stoic expression that made him seem extremely intimidating, "More than an hour." He replied and I couldn't help but sigh. Well, I think I should sleep in the meantime cause I don't have anyone bothering me and trying to harras me in my sleep anymore.

I folded my arms across my chest once more and closed my eyes as I tried to fall asleep but couldn't. It's hard to fall asleep when you're sitting next to Sinn Phoenix.

I couldn't help but peek his way from time to time as he was busy reading something on his phone. My hand still felt a weird kind of way which he held and I couldn't help but feel this weird kind of way.

Sinn noticing me staring at him looked up from his phone and glanced my way slightly tilting his head which made the earring in his right ear dangle and as the sun hit it, it reflected into my eyes.

I turned away immediately pretending as if just moments ago I wasn't gawking at him.

I felt his eyes stay over me for a brief moment before he continued back at his phone doing whatever he was doing.

Suddenly, the car took a sharp turn making me fall over at Sinn's side. I held his arm for support as I kept on leaning by his side but he was unbothered by this sudden change of directions as he sat still in his seat. But, I would say his body was tense as I was literally half hugging him. It's clear that he's not comfortable with being this close.

I tried to get up as the car was now stable. I held onto the back of my seat to balance myself and I saw Sinn having his seat belt on which is why he was unaffected by this sudden turn.

"It's better if you put on your seat belt or the next time you'll be flying off your seat." He more like demanded me to do it as he continued staring down his phone.

I tried to grab the belt but it wouldn't bulge as I pulled it towards me. I attempted several more times when I got restless and put one of my knees on the chair and tried to pull it with much more force now.

I must've looked like a madwoman when Sinn glanced over at me and gave me a look. He shook his head as he put aside his phone in his pocket and turned over to me. He pulled the belt easily as he leaned over to me and tucked it in.

I leaned back in my chair with his sudden closeness to me. He glanced at me sideways, his silver eyes shining as my eyes landed at his lips. They were zipped together as he had his usual stoic look.

But then his eyes landed on my lips and my heart skipped a beat. He was staring at them when the car stepped on yet another rock and this time he lost balance as his nose came into contact with mine.

Though his reflexes were faster and he took hold of his seat as he balanced himself from getting anything else in contact.

His eyes flickered over mine as if he was searching for something in them. The tip of his nose brushed over mine as he gave me one last look and pulled away going back to his seat and putting on his seat belt.

I took a deep breath which I didn't realize I was holding as I realized if Sinn hadn't balanced himself in time, instead of our nose, our lips would've touched.

Thinking about it made me feel awkward and I leaned towards the window on my side as I stared out of it for the rest of the ride.
