Sinn's POV

It killed me to leave her.

But I had to cause work called.

And if I want to spend time with her in peace, I'll have to deal with the insect that is Papa Don.

We got rid of Charlie and made his gang join us. We have more qualified men on our side now which means we're closer to overthrowing him.

It's been 20 years since I had to tolerate his bullshit. It's time that he leaves this earth.

I had to do as he said to buy some time till we got rid of Charlie. Now there's no need for any of that.

"Sinn, you're fucking late for the first time in your life. Where the fuck were you?" Leonardo blasted me with his words and I sat on the chair with a pissed face.

I'm still annoyed that I had to leave her. If I could, I would never leave her side.

"Don't tell me, you went on a torturing spree 'cause Layla didn't inform you she's visiting her cousin. Man, I told you she told me to tell you." Yuri said and I wanted to roll my eyes.

I was pissed when I got to know about her whereabouts through him. She should've told me directly but she ran away after kissing me so it was clear she was avoiding me.

And I did find her. It's not that hard I just had to track her phone and she was not at her cousin's.

That made me worried so I rushed to her and brought her back with me.

She kissed me and ran away. I needed answers cause I thought she regretted but she didn't. Not the kiss or that night.

I never knew something could make my tired soul feel ecstatic. But her words did.

"Don't spew nonsense. Why the fuck did you call me?" I asked them and they looked at me.

"Someone's waiting to get greeted by you." Leonardo said, smiling at me and I knew what he meant by 'greeting'.

I sighed standing up, "Come on."

We walked to the room downstairs. It was our spare place. I noticed a guy tied up with his head hung down.

A bulb was turned on above his head and he was sweating heavily.

"He's one of the spies that geezer planted," Leonardo announced from beside me.

I cracked my knuckles, walking over to the guy. I stopped before him and he looked me up with difficulty. He was already beaten up.

This guy was among one of our people and worked for about 2 months with us. It's not like he's the first spy he left. There were many.

But I got rid of them all.

I was suspicious of this new guy for a while, but I let him be before I took action.

And now he's done for.

"You thought you'll get away without letting any of us know?" Yuri muttered from behind me and I stared at the guy who was breathing heavily.

"I did as Papa Don said. I'm loyal to him." The guy with brown hair said and I was already getting bored.

All of them said the same thing. That they're loyal to him. But in the end, they all come begging me.

His eyes shot up to me as he shouted. "Kill me already Sinn Phoenix! I'll die happily sacrificing myself for him."

His words made me scoff as I scooted down to his level. He flinched, gulping as he stopped shouting. He was already scared.

"Who said I'll kill you? I won't if you work for me."

He frowned and stuttered, "I-I would never work for you. Just kill me!"

I kicked his face with my black boots making some of his teeth fall off on the floor with blood spewing.

He coughed and I placed my boots on his chest making him wince.

"We're not negotiating over here. You either do as I say or I'll eradicate your whole family."

He looked at me with fear glistening in his eyes as he started to shiver. I didn't stop glaring at him and he went berserk.

"Don't touch my family! I'll do as you say." He begged and I removed my foot from his chest placing them back on the ground.

"Tell me every move of his." I glared at him, "If you try to act smart, I'll deliver your family's head to you."

He nodded his head hysterically and I turned my back to him and excited the dull room. Leonardo and Yuri follow behind.

"That wasn't too bad now was it?" Yuri said nudging Leonardo and he smiled.

"What would you expect when we have Lucifer himself with us?" I cringed at that name the underworld gave me.

"Keep an eye on him. Report anything to me if he does something suspicious." I told them both and they nodded their heads.

Layla's POV

I was laying down on his bed feeling bored.

I decided to stay on his floor cause it was so peaceful. And his room smelled of him.

I closed my eyes. It's been a while since he left. It's dark outside and he's still not back.

I lay on my front, my cheek against the soft sheet of his bed. My eyelids grew heavy and I didn't know when I dozed off.

I felt a warm hand on my back, rubbing it. I snuggled into the feeling. It's been a long time since I felt this comfortable.

I opened my eyes and found Sinn beside me on the bed, leaning his head against the headboard as he stared at me stroking my back.

"Couldn't wait for me?" He teased, his eyes gleaming with amusement and I got up to face him.

"I waited for hours. I don't know when I dozed off." I rubbed my eyes and his hand grazed my cheek.

"I couldn't wake you up. You were sleeping like a baby." He told me and I saw the adoration in his eyes.

"You should've," I told him but he just stared at me, grazing the skin on my cheek.

I leaned into his touch, missing it when suddenly he pulled me to him making me straddle his waist. He grabbed the nape of my neck and pulled my face to his, kissing me.

I grabbed his face in mine, kissing him back.

He pulled me beside him on the bed and covered us with the sheets.

I still recovered my breath as he turned to stare at me.

"What?" I asked him. He kept on staring at me with amusement in his eyes.

"I can't seem to get enough of you. What are you?" He asked.

I scoffed smiling, "A human just like you." I told him but he was serious.

"You are what my soul yearns for."

His eyes stared at me, making me fall even more in love with him.
