Layla's POV

We had arrived at our destination an hour ago.

Thankfully after Sinn made me sit beside him I was much more comfortable than I was sitting beside that bastard. But still, being next to Sinn had its pros and cons.

I could not sleep through the whole fucking ride because of how on edge I was by being next to him. Like I've practically trained with him and been pretty close to him while doing so but still, I felt this unusual feeling that I can't describe in words. It's this strange feeling in my whole body whenever he's close to me. It feels like I can't breathe.

I don't know how I sat next to him for the whole long-ass ride feeling this anxious. I just hope he didn't notice cause then I'll be fucking embarrassed.

Now I had already freshened up and we were sitting in the living room of our new spot which was temporary as Leo said cause we would be moving somewhere else for our mission.

They had gathered us here to announce what specific task we had to perform for this mission.

"I suppose all of you have freshened up now." Leo finally spoke and I noticed everyone including that fucker Spencer and Francis in the room settled.

Yuri was standing beside Leo with an Ipad in his hand as he was scanning the screen with his eyebrow furrowed. Seemed something hella important.

Sinn on the other hand was leaning against the railing of the stairway wearing his black sweater covering his neck. He also had his serious look on, well, when doesn't he though.

"I'll now announce the task every one of you will be performing," Leo added. Luca, Mattheo, and I were sitting on the sofa in front of him and I looked up to see him.

"We have to get hold of the 50 million dollars worth of gold statue from the Astor's mansion." Leo continued and I noticed everyone focusing on him.

"It's extremely difficult to get it out as they have high security and almost no stranger could enter their house but we have a plan," Leo said and looked over at Yuri. He on the other hand looked from the Ipad for the first time and met Leo's gaze as he nodded his head.

"Mr. Vinci's son and his fiancé are to visit the Astor mansion in the celebration of their engagement, they being distant family friends. We'll take it as an opportunity to infiltrate inside their mansion." Yuri spoke this time and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but before I could ask anything Sinn interrupted my thoughts.

"And how will we be doing that?" His tone was stern as usual but he raised his eyebrow and looked over at them waiting for an answer.

"As the Astor family doesn't know how either of the two looks like, you and Layla will be infiltering their house as them." Leo completed and I jolt my eyes at them as I stared Leo in disbelief.

Luca and Mattheo jerked their head towards me and I glanced at Sinn as he glared at Leo and Yuri with his steel eyes. It seemed as if he was equally stunned as I was and it kind of surprised me cause wasn't he supposed to know about this if they did?

"What?!" I stood up, Leo and Yuri as well as Sinn were now focusing their stares on me. "I didn't sign up for this I thought we'd have to use our hands and guns and fight but not to act like some fucking fiancé." I spat at them and I saw Sinn narrowing his eyes at me cause I was talking against my orders which is basically against the rules.

"We never said you'd only be fighting, yes you will be but other things are involved such as acting like some fucking fiancé." Leo practically retorted and I couldn't fathom anything he was saying.

"So you're telling me I'll have to pretend fiancé with Sinn Phoenix? Pretend to be his fiancé?" I asked him for his confirmation and Yuri sighed, "Well not Sinn's fiancé but Victor Vinci's. It's not such a big deal you just have to find the perfect timing for us to attack them and take the gold statue. That's it."

"That's it?" Sinn spoke now and all heads turned to him. "Do you have any idea how fucking dangerous this could get? What if she messes up and blows our cover? We'll lose this mission."

I squinted my eyes at him as he disgraced my abilities just like that. "What do you mean she? What if you blow our cover with your poor acting skills." I didn't know from where I got the confidence to talk back to him.

He stared at me with his silver eyes and I felt as if he'll put a hole through my head as he loved doing so with his gun to another human. "Don't fucking challenge me, Rebel."

Well, I knew better than to challenge him but I still held my ground and stared back at him, "And you don't challenge me."

Sinn pulled away from the stairway railing and stalked towards me, his eyes not leaving mine for a second as he stood over me, I felt his warm breath hit my face and I felt this tingly sensation in my stomach but I ignored it and continued to stare back at him.

"Then show me what you got, Mrs. Vinci."

He caught me off guard with his words but I tried not to show it on my face.

"Oh, I will Mr. Vinci."

"I see you both adapted to your respective roles quite rapidly, well let me explain further." Leo interrupted our heated staring session as I looked away from him but still felt his gaze on me.
