Layla's POV
After Mattheo and Luca left and I freshened up, I made my way down to the living room.
I am greeted by Leo's sitting figure who was reading a book. When he noticed my presence he looked up from his book and set it aside on the table. "Layla, how are you feeling?" He asked me and I smiled unsurely.
"Fine, I guess?" I answered and he gave me a small smile. "Sin took you back to your room. He said you're sleeping and nothing's wrong." Leo informed me and I nodded my head, sitting beside him on the sofa.
"They told me about it. Thank you for yesterday." I said and he turned to me. "It's our duty as you're now under us. But make sure you don't go out like that on your own and at least inform one of us if you are." He told me and I rested my back on the sofa.
"Yeah, I will," I said as Yuri entered the living room with his phone pressed against his ear. He muttered something in Japanese, I recognized it cause I've watched my fair share of animes to know that.
He sounded pissed off as he hung up his phone and ran a hand through his hair. "What's up?" Leo asked, not at all bothered by Yuri's annoying form.
"The usual, what else. These fucking Yakuza, I get a handful of work from the mafia here as it is and they keep on bugging me." Yuri exhaled and Leo chuckled.
"You'll be fine. Where's Sin though?" Just as he asked that we all turned our heads towards a tall figure walking to us. "Here he is."
He casually came to where we were, he was wearing a black suit which was his usual style, and had a black coat hung over his shoulder as he sat beside Yuri, opposite Leo and me. Our eyes met for a brief moment before I looked away at Leo as he spoke, "Should we gather them all and tell them the news?" Sin looked at him blankly before he nodded his head once.
Mattheo, Luca, and I were now seated in the living room with Leo, Yuri, and Sin in front of us. We had no idea as to why we were like this but I had an idea that it would probably be related to the missions we'll be undertaking.
"So, you all might probably have an idea as to why we've gathered you here. Well, it's related to the missions." Leo started and we all had our full focus on what he's saying.
"As we've informed you before, these missions you'll join us on would be extremely dangerous and you're lives are at risk. You all have already signed the documents which were given to you before you came here by your respective gangs."
I remember the document which had the official stamp of the mafia itself. After I saw that I believed Jasper's words. I read the whole thing myself cause I don't trust Jasper and it did mention; our lives will be at stake.
"So now comes the final stage, you've all been tested and only three of you managed to end here. As there are only three of you, and we divide the members into 3 teams that function under one of us, we don't have a choice but to assign each of you under one of us.
Leo said and I noticed the three of them seated before me; Leo and Yuri were on either side of Sin who was in the middle. Their posture held authority in it which you can't challenge.
Oh, I get it now. So they'll each have one of us under them and we'll go under missions in that order. I just wish I don't end up under Sin cause only I know how I managed to withstand his harsh training. Every muscle in my body ached after it. I would happily go on missions under Leo or Yuri but not Sin. Just no.
It's pretty much obvious that he's the most intimidating and, after training under him for a few days, the most strict.
"And we've already decided on who'll you would be working under," Leo said and I straightened my back.
"Mattheo, you'll be working under me," Leo announced and Mattheo sighed in relief. He's a lucky bastard to work under him. Well, but Yuri's left, and I could only hope that I get paired up with him.
Think positively Layla, you still have one chance left.
"Luca, you'll be working under Yuri," Leo announced. Luca fist-bumped the air as he got excited. The both of them seemed to be happy and relaxed like they were praying they don't end up with Sin.
My eyes on the other hand jolt up in surprise cause it only meant one thing. "Now Layla, you'll be under Sin," Leo announced and his lips formed in a smile cause he knew I was praying I don't end up with him.
I turned my head and my eyes met with Sin's cold silver ones. He was staring at me blankly and I inwardly gulped. I thought after training with him for a while I wouldn't have to interact with him that much, I mean I knew we'd be working on missions but I didn't know they'll divide us and I will have to be working under Sin. Like why?
"Good luck to you all. Rest for now cause starting from next week, we're starting on our missions." Leo finished and it seemed as if the good luck was mostly directed to me as he glanced at me.
The three of them then stood up and made their way upstairs leaving me in my dumbfounded position with Mattheo and Luca.
"Man, I'm relieved. I was praying I don't end up under Sin. Who knows he would just kill me with his mere stare. That man scares the shit outta me." Mattheo laughed as Luca nodded in approval. "Same man! But now poor Layla has to deal with him." They both turned to me and chuckled.
"Shut up or I'll kill you." I gritted. I was still in shock. No one has an idea how much I want to stay away from that man. There's a part of me that wants to be closer and know him but then, I feel this weird feeling in me which confuses me. So, to keep my distance from him would be the best thing.
"I wish you all my luck Layla, who knows you might need cause now you're pretty much tied to him," Luca said and I tilted my head and glared at him.
"I'll go talk to my girlfriend it's almost time when she calls," Luca muttered as he left Mattheo and me alone.
"I'll be heading upstairs too, see ya." Mattheo waved and I just frowned, holding my head in my hands as an idea popped up in my head.
I strode up the stairs and walked around the hallway searching for a tall figure before I spotted it walking in front of me. I ran to him and stopped in front of him making him stop.
Sin raised his eye in question and I tried to catch my breath. "I have a question." I breathed out and he folded his hand signaling me that he's listening.
"You still haven't, you know, cleared me from your tests for me to be a part of your missions. It means that I-"
"You cleared."
"What?" It seemed as if I just imagined him saying that cause it was just too sudden. He stared at me as his eyes flickered between mine. I couldn't help but stare back at him.
"You pass, Rebel."
