I'm here for you

Chapter 20

The next morning, Naruto was called into hokage's office for some reason. Yoshino grumbled in annoyance,"Are they assigning him another mission? So early? He just came back."

Shikamaru too was annoyed but still didn't say anything. Naruto gave Yoshino and shikamaru a small smile, assuring them that it would be fine before going out of the Nara house.

He ran to the hokage tower, he knocked on the door and when he heard a tired 'come-in' he entered, Kakashi was sitting inbetween piles of documents, looking so tired that he might faint any moment now.

Naruto said,"Sensei you should take rest."

Kakashi got up from his seat, he walked towards Naruto and gave him a awkward hug, startling Naruto,"Se-sensei?"

Kakashi quickly moved away,"I am not good at these type of things so I am sorry. I should've have looked after you. You are my sensei's son and my precious student. I am sorry Naruto."

When Kakashi said this, Naruto sighed, he figured out that Inoichi has told Kakashi about his nightmares, Naruto smiled softly,"You don't have to worry Kakashi sensei. I am fine. Shikamaru, Shikaku-san, inoichi-san, Yoshino-san are also helping me. Don't worry."

Kakashi moved away, with  a sigh,"I am glad."

There was pause for a minute before Naruto asked,"Sensei why did you call me here?"

Instead of answering Kakashi went near his seat, rummaged through papers before picking something up, he walked towards Naruto,"Here this is for you." Naruto looked at his hands, there was a key and a paper, Kakashi eye smiled,"They are the key and papers for your new house." 

Naruto smiled back,"Thankyou sensei."

Kakashi patted his back,"The apartment is at a nice place, it's also near Ichiraku's, I knowyou love to eat ramen so I decided to give you a place nearby. You should check out that place. I am sure you will like it. Then off you go. "

Naruto said 'thankyou' once again before jumping out of the window as he gave a wave to kakashi, he was happy that he finally got his house but he was also sad because he would've to part ways with Shikamaru.

There were many thoughts going in his mind.

If I shift to the new place, Shikamaru would not be with me, and if he is not then I will not be able to sleep. Also I can't just ask shikamaru to come with me or I can't forever stay at his place. What should I do? I want to stay with him. 

Before he knew it, Naruto was back at the Nara's. He entered the house and directly went to Shikamaru's room.

Shikamaru was playing Shogi, Naruto walked towards him and sat down infront of him.

"Why did Hokage-sama call you? Is it another mission?"

Naruto's gaze focused on the board, he didn't want to meet Shikamaru's eyes,"He called me to give me keys." He paused for a second,"Keys for my new place." Naruto specified.

Shikamaru froze in the middle of placing the piece, Naruto has gotten the keys, so will he go away? So soon? I don't want him to.

Shikamaru wanted to say 'good for you' to play cool but his inner thoughts came out,"Don't go." Shikamaru quickly shut his mouth not wanting any more of his thoughts to come out.

Naruto froze hearing this, his heart rapidly pounding, Shikamaru's heart was going with the same as Naruto's, he took a deep breath as he tried to form a few words, something that would make Naruto stay, something that would hide his desire to stay with naruto,"You should stay. You are still facing nightmares, and only I can help you with it." 

"Also you were going to stay a month here anyway, if you didn't get the apartment, so stay. You haven't even started the sessions with Inoich-san and you will face terrible nightmares, but if you stay with me I will keep them away for you. After a month when the amount nightmares gets reduced you can move. So for one more month stay with me."

Shikamaru doesn't know how many times he said 'stay' he didn't want to sound desperate but he did, he really wanted Naruto to stay not only because he wanted to help naruto but also because he was too attached to the blonde. 

Naruto listened to everything, he needed a reason to stay and shikamaru provided him with it, he gave a slight nod,"I will stay. Thankyou Shika~"

Naruto looked up and his eyes finally met Shikamaru's, a warm feeling bloomed in their heart. They both were happy that they didn't have to part with each other. Atleast for another month.
