I'm here for you

Chapter 10

Naruto woke up in arms of Shikamaru again, he was getting used to it, he liked the feeling of other's arm and he hated that fact, he doesn't want to rely on shikamaru, he knew the pineapple head would marry Temari and he would not always be with him.

Naruto got up from the bed and looked outside thw window, because of Shikamaru his bad dreams were fading away but it doesn't mean that he has stopped blaming himself, he was tired of everything, he felt he was the one at fault for not protecting those who died.

Naruto was drawn out of his thoughts when there was a man wearing a anbu fox mask on the window,  naruto recognized who it was though he didn't say anything, he slowly went towards the window and opened it, trying not to wake the sleeping Nara up.

Anbu Fox said in a low monotone voice,"Hokage has summoned you Naruto Uzumaki." 

Naruto nodded,"Okay let's go."

With this he jumped out of the window, he closed the window once again from the outside and started jumping on roofs to roofs together with Anbu Fox.

Soon he was standing infront of the hokage, his former sensei, Kakashi.

Kakashi stood up from his seat,"You are staying at the nara compound?" Naruto  didn't say anything and let Kakashi continue.

Kakashi sighed,"Naruto sorry I couldn't give you a house at the moment, whenall the repairing work will be done that is in around 2 months, the first thing I will do is give you a nice house."

Kit  which means you have only two months to find out why the Nara kid is the only one who can help you.

Kurama reminded him, and Naruto didn't want to think about this right now, so he ignored the kitsune.

Naruto nodded,"Okay Hokage-sama." Hearing this Kakashi raised his brows,"Hokage sama? Maa Maa naruto you can't distance yourself with me like this. You can call me Kakashi sensei like usual or just Kakashi would be fine."

After kakashi said this a small smile played on Naruto's lips,"Then why has kakashi sensei summoned me?" Kakashi too smiled under the mask, satisfied, and the next second he had a serious expression,"I am assigning you a S-rank mission."

Naruto's expression stiffened, and Kakashi continued,"The details are  in the scroll. You will have to leave today." Kakashi handed him the scroll, Naruto took the scroll,"Okay."

Kit then will you be able to sleep properly?

Maybe not.

Kakashi and naruto shared a small eye contact before Naruto left the Hokage office.

Meanwhile Shikamaru woke up to find Naruto was not besides him, he walked into the living room and was greeted by  his mother,"Good morning Shikamaru~ Where is Naruto? Is he still sleeping?" 

Shikamaru frowned and shook his head,"He is not in the room so I thought he was here, he is not in the washroom either."

Shikaku looked up from his paper to his son's worried expression,"Maybe he has gone somewhere, he is not a kid and not weak either, he will come back safely, don't worry." Shikamaru looked at his father and  breathed out, his father was right, he just lost his cool and didn't think rationaly, so unlike a Nara.

Just when he was going to his room, Naruto came inside the house from the front door, Shikamaru scrutinized Naruto up and down, checking for any injuries, he  asked,"Where were you?" Naruto can feel the worry in Shikamaru's question, he smiled softly,"I was summoned by Kakashi sensei, sorry to not inform you beforehand."

Shikamaru breathed a sigh of relief, Naruto said,"Um...I will not be here for a month because I have to go on a mission." Shikaku raised his brows,"A month?" Naruto polietly nodded,"It's a S-rank mission and I have to leave today."

Yoshino wiped her wet hands from the towel and asked,"Isn't it too soon?" Shikamaru too asked,"When are you leaving?"

Naruto simply answered,"In a hour or two. Then I will go make preparations."

Yoshino said,"Okay dear~ Make sure you don't miss anything."

Naruto bowed and walked into his and shikamaru's room. Shikamaru followed him in, he shut the door as he asked,"How are you going to manage?" Naruto looked up from the scroll as Shikamaru continued,"how are you going to manage at night? Won't you face terrible nightmares?"

Naruto sighed,"I would but it's not that I can defy the hokage's order. Plus I am used to  the nighmares." Shikamaru frowned and moved closer to Naruto who was standing on the edge of the bed,"It's not something you should get used to."

Naruto didn't make any eye contact, "I know....."

With this there was silence in the atmosphere, they both didn't make any eye contact, both not saying anything, Shikamaru helped Naruto with sharpening his Kunai's and shurikens, when he handed them to Naruto, he said only one sentence.

"Please be safe."

"I will.'
