I'm here for you

Chapter 17

Naruto after he was sone at Inoichi's, he went to the library, he entered and looked around for the pineapple head, after a few seconds he found him. He went to sit besides Shikamaru who was looking through tons of books, he said in a low voice,"Shika~"

Shikamaru recognised the voice as he looked up with a smile on his face, which soon turned into a frown when he looked at Naruto's red rimmed eyes,"Did you cry?"

Naruto touched his face,"No I didn't."

Shikmaru's brows furrowed more,"Naruto~"

Naruto let out a sigh,"I did." Shikamaru placed a hand on Naruto's arm,"Tell me about it." Naruto looked around,"Can we move somewhere else? We shouldn't talk in library."

Shikamaru nodded and they both shushined to the nara's room, they were on the bed, Shikamaru laid down as he opened his arms,"Come here." Naruto gave a slight nod before crawling up in the Nara's arm, his cheeks were starting to burn, no matter how many times this happened, it still made his heart race.

Shikamaru was no different, however he knew how to play it cool. 

"So tell me what happened."

Naruto unconsciously snuggled closer on shikamaru's chest,"Inoichi-san talked with me about various stuff, he looked into my memory too and it made me feel...overwhelmed I guess and made me cry, he said to 'put it simply' I am facing nightmares because of stress and the war. After that I asked him why you are the only one to make my nightmares go away."

Shikamaru took the information in as he asked,"And what did he  reply with?"

Naruto answered him in a low voice,"He said you are the first one to provide me comfort, warmth and he also said there was something else, but didn't exactly tell me what."

Shikamaru's eyes met Naruto's who continued,"Shikamaru you are the first person I slept with. Um....what I mean is you are the first one to enevelope me in arms and put me to sleep."

Shikamaru felt a pang in his heart, he never knew Naruto would be so lonely, he never had anyone with him, sure he had friends and parents like  figure but they never put him to sleep, he can imagine a mini naruto trying to sleep by himself, or waking up in the middle of night to find himself in a empty apartment with no one by his side.

Shikamaru tightened his arms around Naruto's shoulder protectively and kissed the other's forehead,"Naruto remember this, I'm here for you, I will always by your side."

Naruto felt himself flush, he doesn't know where he got the courage from, he leaned a bit upwards and kissed Shikamaru's cheeks. It was just a slight peck,"Thankyou."

Shikamaru's heart went out of control and his ears turned red, Naruto too was turning a crimson shade, the both moved away from each other and covered their  face, both of them blushing furiously.

They both were driven out of their moment when Yoshino entered the room, she asked,"When did you both get here." Naruto was the one to answer,"We just shushined here." 

"Then---" Yoshino was interrupted by the door bell,"I'll go check it out."

She went and opened the door,"Shikamaru someone is here for you." She yelled out. Shikamaru and Naruto both shared a look,"Oh okay Mom! Let's go Naruto." With this Naruto followed behind Shikamaru.
