I'm here for you

Chapter 13

Shikamaru really wanted to go home, he wanted to see Naruto so bad right now, his work was finally done, he walked out of Hokage's office with Temari.

Temari linked their arms together,"Let's go maru~"

Shikamaru looked at her and asked,"Where?"

Temari smiled at him,"On a evening date."

Shikamaru moved away from her, he forced himself to smile,"I can't. I am too tired and want to go home and just sleep." Temari frowned,"You can sleep at night, spend some more time with me, we don't get to meet often."

Shikamaru shook his head,"Sorry I feel so drained right now, I want to rest, and you are also staying here for  one more week right? We can go on a date sometime late."

Temari let out a long sigh, she was gettting annoyed but covered it,"Fine you can go home, we will go on a date sometime later."

Shikamaru smiled and hugged her,"See you tomorrow."

Temari hugged him back.

After a few seconds, Shikamaru moved away,"Bye." He didn't  let her say anything else and started walking towards his own house.

Slowly he picked up his pace and started running.

He arrived at his house, he entered and was greeted by his mom,"Welcome home. Dinner will ready in a hour, Oh also Naruto came back in the afternoon." Shikamaru removed his shoes,"I know." With this he started walking towards his room.

Shikamaru opened the door, he saw Naruto sitting on the bed, in his comfortable clothes reading a book, he looked tired, Shikamaru closed the door behind him and walked towards Naruto,"What happened to you?"

Naruto looked up,"What do you mean?"

Shikamaru sat on the bed,"What happened to you during the mission? You look like you will collapse any second. Are you alright? Did you get some sleep?"

Naruto kept the book away on the bedside table, he answered honestly, he didn't want to lie to Shikamaru and it was also not something he had to hide, leaving some confedential part regarding the mission,"I couldn't sleep at all, the nightmares has gotten worse, because of that I was feeling tired, I lost focus and the enemy got the chance to attack me, the wounds were not deep and would heal soon with the help from Kurama, Oh and I took care of the enemy and successfully completed the mission."

Naruto didn't give the details, he just vaguely explained things, but that much was enough was Shikamaru, he got the important part that Naruto hasn't been able to sleep for a month, he was going to say something but Naruto interrupted him,"And um...sorry for snapping at Temari's friend, however if she says something like that again, I would do the same thing, Kurama is someone I cherish."

Hearing this Shikamaru sighed,"I know. She was in the wrong, she shouldn't have crossed the line, I don't blame you. Naruto we will talk later, for now let's sleep, I can't even imagine how much tired you must be feeling right now."

Shikamaru laid down on the bed and pulled Naruto down too, he hugged the blonde, he really missed the other's warmth, Naruto took in a deep breath, he closed his eyes and started feeling drowsy, it didn't take him long to fall asleep.

Shikamaru heard the soft snores coming from the blonde, a soft smile bloomed on his face, he was glad that Naruto was able to sleep well. He whispered,"I missed you Naruto~"
