What has happened"

The alpha demanded as he entered the living room fixing his attention on his oldest son.

Drew told the tale and when he mentioned my name his father shot me a quick glance befire turning back to his son. I was able to decifer the small flicker of curiosity that had flashed through his eyes.

"I"ve sent some warrior wolves to the boundaries to check for any breaches" he sighed after Drew finished.

"So do you think it may be wolves?" Drew asked and his father shook his head.

"I've been speaking with a friend. It doesn't seem to be the case. He'll be here in a moment to explain everything" he said.

Once again he glanced at me calmly.

"Amberia. It is in fact your father who has told me of this news. I was surprised to hear the news. I wasn't able to detect any alpha blood within you as your human genes masked it but now I understand you are an alpha female"

I heard a collective intake of breath as both Victor and Jack drew in sharp breathes of surprise. Obviously, they hadn't expected me to be anything but human and definitely alpha female had never crossed their minds. I couldn't blame them. I wasn't exactly the spitting image of one.

"My dad is coming here Mr Salisbury?" I asked and he nodded with a small smile.

"Call me Sam dear, we're basically family. And yes he is arriving here very soon and its striking how similar you look" Sam told me and I felt my heart warm at the thought of being part of the family.

Barely had these words fallen from his mouth when suddenly the same girl who had announced his arrival reappeared in the room. She looked somewhat nervous but nevertheless she cleared her throat and stated her business.

"Alpha Varsham is here"

Sam told her to let him in.

I felt nerves spring through me. I had only known my long lost father for a few hours and I didn't know whether I would ever get used to seeing him everyday. I knew that he wasn't at fault but somewhere at the recesses of my being I felt as if he had betrayed me.

At the sound of my father's last name or my last name until I was seven, I stilled. Amberia Varsham. That was what had been in the register back in England before my father had left.

My mother was of a kind who didn't enjoy keeping reminders of my father of any kind. She had thrown my father's clothes and belongings into black bin bags and had stuffed them into our barely used garage. Locked up and unable to interfere with our life. She'd done the same with our last name. Not wanting to be reminded of my father every time she signed off a news article or document she changed Varsham into Abbencroft - her British maiden name.

For a very long time I wondered if I was actually Indian. Nothing about me apart from my looks and my taste in movies was resemblance of my heritage.

My father had instilled into me the habit of watching bollywood movies which in my opinion were completely indescribably unrealistic but I loved them like a little child loves sweets. They may be unhealthy and overdosed with sugar but they were made to be loved.

I was pulled out of my reverie when I found myself being addressed by my father who had just entered the room.

"Amberia, are you ok" his voice was laced with concern as he strode forwards and took my face in his hands.

Quickly checking that I was ok he let go before shooting Drew a quick cursory glance. It wasn't hostile but neither was it loving.

"I am glad you could make it so quickly, alpha" Sam stepped forward with an outstretched hand.
