CHAPTER 8

A shiver racked through my body as he placed his soft rose coloured lips on my cheek. It was the chastest of kisses but it was a kiss nevertheless and I could feel my knees turning to jelly at his touch. He had so much power over me and it terrified me. It scared me so much that I actually wanted to run away from him.

I wanted to ask how he knew my real name but my voice had completely disappeared. The kiss was brief, he moved away from me and I could feel the onset of coldness as he walked farther and farther away. I caught up with him and let my senses fizzle at his proximity. He was intoxicating like some sort of exotic wine; enamouring me with his delicacy and grace. Drew led me behind the shed where I came across a small table with two chairs attached to it. He set down his bag beside it and turned to face me.

“Do you have your lunch with you or do you want to share? I brought enough for the both of us” He said pulling out a brown paper bag that was bulging with food.

“How do you know my name?” I asked, breaking out of my reverie.

He paused and looked up at me.

“I found out from your school records” He shrugged passively as if it was no big deal.

“But my name is Berry on the records” I scowled at his lack of explanation. He was being so stubborn.

“I found out from your old school. I have a few friends in England”

“But…why would you do that? Oh my gosh you are stalking me aren’t you? I thought maybe I was just imagining things but you are stalking me! I mean this morning when you picked me up from my house – how did you even know where I live? Why are you doing this? What–“

He shut me up with a hand over my mouth. He brought his face closer until our foreheads were brushing with each other.

“I am not stalking you, Amberry. I am simply finding out things about you that no one knows”

“That’s called stalking” I muttered against his hand and he chuckled in response.

“I suppose, but I have no bad intentions concerning you” He murmured into my ear.

He would be the death of me.

“It’s slightly hard to believe considering you just brought me behind the janitor’s closet” I said and them pulled away from his grasp and put my face in hands.

“That sound so wrong when I say it like that” I mumbled.
