CHAPTER 11

Drew began to saunter closer and closer until once again I found myself pressed against the marble basin countertop. He reached out and began to trace a pattern on the exposed skin above my breasts as his eyes continued to smoulder into mine. I took in a shaky breath and he let his hands skim down my body until they rested on my waist.

“Will you let me –“

He was interrupted when someone banged on the door and I jumped at the noise.

“Oi, get the F*** out! You’ve been in there for a century”

Someone yelled and I pulled away from Drew, quickly patted my slightly rumpled dress free of wrinkles and moved to open the door. I found myself face to face with a boy who I recognised from my maths class. His glasses were askew and he barged into the bathroom, pushing me out followed by Drew.

Drew took hold of my hand and we began to make our way through the crowded hallway and into the living room where the party was moving full blast. Bodies were twerking, grinding and moulding against one another and I clung to Drew, hoping I wouldn’t get lost. He pulled me over to an adjoining room where we found the others. I noticed a few more people had joined the group. Beside Victor stood no other than the brunette girl from Chemistry who had tried to trip me over. She paused in mid speech when her eyes landed on me. Her eyes narrowed to slits and she frowned at me as if I was something that disgusted her.

“What are you doing here Newbie?” Her voice was the same snarky tone I remembered.

“Jayden invited me and my names Berry” I replied simply.

She rolled her eyes.

“I meant, what are you doing in this room? Don’t you know this is for the exclusives only?” She snarled.

I felt Drew tense beside me.

“Don’t talk to her like that, Susan. I want her here so she’s going to be here. Mind your own business. And about the exclusives thing – well she’s with me so I guess that should be exclusive enough for you”

He pulled me away from her and towards a table that carried the weight of food and drinks. He picked out a coke and offered it to me which I was thankful for. I didn’t really drink alcohol. Holly had tried to get me to tastle flavoured vodka back in England but I couldn’t even bare the smell let alone drink it. It reminded me of cough medicine, strangely enough.

“You ok?” He asked and I nodded.

I really wanted to go home though. The party hadn’t been much to my liking so far and the only aspect that had been enjoyable was being stuck in that bathroom with Drew. I wasn’t even going to lie.

“You don’t have to stick up for me – I can do that myself” I told him as he grabbed a coke for himself too.

Chuckling he popped open the can and took a swig.
