!!TW!!- mentions of death/ grieving

I promptly left the dinner table and walked up to Bella's room. Whenever I stayed overnight, we shared a room so it felt like the right place to go.

I lay down on her bed and cried into her pillow. I felt so lost, the people that cared about me the most have been stripped away from me. And for what reason? They're not bad people, just misunderstood.

I heard a small knock on the door but I chose to ignore it. "Y/N darling, it's me" It was Druella, she opened the door and walked over to the bed. She sat down next to me and rubbed my back gently.

"I know this has been a shock darling but I can promise you, everything will be alright" I turned to look at her "how do you know that?". She smiled faintly before she told me "well, I think you should know that you shall be collecting your things and moving here" I sat up quickly and hugged her.

"Really? Thank you so much Druella" she stroked my hair and kissed my head. "No need to thank me, darling"

We broke off the hug and she looked like she wanted to say something else so I spoke "Druella, I know there is something else, please tell me" She nodded her head and began to speak.

"I'm not exactly sure if I am meant to tell you this but you have a right to know" My chest got heavy and my heart pounded. "We knew that there would be a chance that something like this may happen. This is why we made the unbreakable vow not long after you and Bellatrix were born. We did this to ensure that if anything was to happen, you or my three would have a place to call home"

My eyes threatened to let tears fall. I had no idea that they had done this. "Why didn't anyone tell me?" I was lost for words. "We never thought we would ever, ever have to"

She pulled me into yet another hug and I slumped into her arms. I felt safe yet so exposed. And that was when I decided, I would live up to be like my parents and perhaps one day, avenge them.

Druella left after a short while of comforting me since it was getting pretty late. "We can get your things tomorrow darling. You can even have your own room!" I smiled and nodded, then mouthed a thank you.

As she opened the door, Bella was stood outside. "I'm sorry, I just didn't want to intrude. Is she alright?" Druella nodded before leaving so Bella could come to bed. It was her room after all.

She clambered into bed beside me and hugged me. "Everything is going to be alright Y/N. I promise" I let out a muffled cry into the crook of her neck. I sure do hope she is right.

I eventually fell asleep on Bella's chest. She ran her fingers through my hair as I succumbed to sweet dreams.

I woke in a strange place. I was in a dark forest, being suffocated by trees. It was extremely sheltered making it difficult for me to tell whether it was night or day. I could hear the rustling of leaves.

I crawled behind a bush and pressed my back against a tree. I dragged my knees up against my chest and rested my chin on them. My breathing became shallower as I heard screams in the distance.

'What is this place?' I thought to myself. "Come out from behind that bush, little girl" a cold voice whispered. I felt like obeying this voice would be the correct choice. I slowly uncovered myself from my hiding place. A tall man stood before me in a black robe.

"Follow me Y/N, there is something I want to show you" I stayed silent but closely followed. We walked a short distance before halting at what appeared to be a campsite.

There was a small campfire lit with small stumps around it. Noone was present. "Lower them" he hissed. And as he said that, two bodies were dropped but they didn't hit the floor. They were being suspended by the necks on ropes.

Curiosity got the better of me, I edged closer to see who they were. It was a man and a woman and just before I got the chance to see who they were the man shouted: "THEY DIED FOR YOU Y/N"

Their bodies spun around to face me. I let out a blood-curdling scream...

I shot up screaming. I couldn't breathe, sweat was trickling down my face and my heart was pounding. I could hear muffled speaking but I couldn't concentrate enough on it since my ears were ringing. I felt someone's hand rub my back gently but everything was such a blur.

I calmed down slightly and could hear better. "It's alright Y/N, it was just a dream" It was Bella, she was trying to calm me down and it was working. I felt safer now but still on edge. She pulled me into a hug and I cried hard into her chest. "My parents... they died... for me" I said through tears.

The door burst open "we heard screaming is everything okay?" It was Druella and Cygnus. Bella shook her head in response but I didn't look up, just kept crying. "Y/N darling it's alright, we're here" Druella joined Bellatrix and reassured me. "Why don't you come downstairs and we can talk?" I nodded and got up.

As I slugged out of the room to wait in the hallway she thanked Bella before rejoining me. We made our way down and into the library to sit by the dying fire. "Take a seat honey, I'll fetch you a glass of water"

I did as I was told and waited for her to return. When she did she handed me the glass then sat opposite me. "So, do you want to talk about it?"

I shyly nodded my head...
