All of Class 1-A, plus the Zodiac signs were sitting in the waiting room, waiting to be called out, and shown off like trophies to the rest of the world. The other Zodiacs weren't participating, something about parents being upset that they let eleven extra kids into UA, and its prestigious hero course. I admit it's unfair, but we technically count as one person.
I had tied my hair into a bun, which I seldom did, and Taurus even teased me about how serious I'm getting. He's right, I rarely put my hair up, and when I do it's only for training. Even during our hero classes, my hair is out in its pink-ish ash-blonde waves. "Midoriya," Todoroki said, which attracted everyone's attention. Todoroki hardly ever spoke, and when he did it was just with one person. He never talked loud enough to draw the attention of the entire room.
Todoroki declares he's going to beat Midoriya, and then claims that Midoriya has All Might in his corner helping him out. I raise an eyebrow at the transaction. Before anyone can react though, we're called outside. I whirl around to look at Taurus. "Bye."
"I'll be watching," Taurus called out after me when I turned to follow my classmates.
The bright sun in my eyes blinds me for a moment but then I see the huge crowds. Eh, I'm used to big groups of people at once. Comes with having one of your parents being a hero. A famous one at that.
Present Mic gives us this amazing intro as the class who fought a bunch of villains and won, and then the rest of the classes just get stuff like "1-C, General Studies."
When all the first-year classes are herded up, Midnight steps onto the stage. She gives a little intro. "Now, Katsuki Bakugo for the athlete's pledge!" She announces.
"That makes sense, he did place first in the entrance exam," Kirishima commented.
"Only for the hero course exam." Some brunette with a resting bitch face chimed in. I roll my eyes at her.
"I just wanna say...I'm gonna win." Everyone started booing him. He gave them all a thumbs down. "Not my fault you're all stepping stones to my victory." He says nonchalantly. I have to bite my tongue not to say anything.
"To decide the first obstacle we have to spin the wheel." Midnight points at a wheel. They're probably only spinning the wheel for suspense.
On cue, the wheel spins, and it lands on...obstacle course.
We're all herded to the obstacle course and told to go through. Except there were two problems. There was a giant doorway, but there were also at least one hundred students all together and there was no way we were all going to fit.
But Todoroki made it easier for me. He froze the bottom of the floor and then used his ice to surf past the hidden first obstacle. I smirked, and pulled moisture out of the air, and made the water boiling, I slammed the boiling water down to my feet, and the ice that was binding me melted.
I pulled more moisture out of the air, and froze the water, making steps of ice that go above everyone else. But I have to get moving, many people have quirks that can get them out of the ice, and I could see Bakugo using his explosions to propel him forward, Momo running forward, and a few others from 1-A.
When some people tried to use my ice to get out of the ice Todoroki put down, I made the ice shatter. I ran above everyone else, shattering the ice steps behind me as fast as I was running.
Then I got to the second obstacle. Zero pointers. The one from the entrance exam. Except it wasn't just one, it was about ten of them. "How did UA afford these?" Momo remarked. I ignored her, ready to run through the gaps of their legs, but Todoroki froze them. All of them. I was about to ignore the ice again, but Todoroki said something that made me hesitate. He froze them off balance. And Kirishima and someone from another class was running straight towards the zero-pointers.
