basically just a mobius centric angst fic after ep 2 ending
mobius just wants his loki back

mobius watches as loki goes through the portal following their variant self. escaping of course.. mobius should have seen this coming.
"damnit!" mobius shouts. he wanted to say more, he wanted to yell curse loki out, he felt his love- or whatever it was that he felt for loki shattered.
he really should have seen this coming, and perhaps he did he just didn't want to acknowledge the fact that loki would do it to him or acknowledge the fact that the tva was right.. he knew they were right.. they always seemed to be right.
but still, he hopes deep down that this wasn't a betrayal and loki just wanted to stop the variant and not join them.. that didn't really matter though- the tva would reset loki either way.. that's what they were always planning to do in the first place-
the hunter agents looked at mobius as if asking what should they do. mobius was too caught up in his own thoughts to know what to tell them.
"uh.. go and help with the others.. i'll go back to the tva... to see- see if loki is there-"
they understood and nodded leavening mobius there just watching where loki had left.

back at the tva mobius ends back up where he and loki first talked.. or more like where he "interrogated" loki, mobius didn't really see it that way-
mobius sat at the table that was in the middle of the room.
"fuck" he breaths out, as he places his face into his hands.
mobius stayed liked that for however long he didn't know, he nodded off occasionally but not actually falling asleep, god he wish he could though, he just wants to sleep away what's happened and wake up to it all being some dream- more like a nightmare.. but he knows even if he did sleep he'd wake up to it being real.. wake up to loki actually leaving.. leaving him-
he was surprised loki even stayed as long as they did- surprised loki even help them look for this other variant version of them self, maybe it was for their own benefit in fear of the tva resetting them if they didn't show cooperation but mobius wouldn't let that happen not to loki.
he stayed there longer than he should have, thinking about how stupid he was for trusting loki knowing that they were going to stab him in the back at some point- and he thinks of how stupid he is for still trusting loki.
"are you just going to sit there a mope or were you actually going to go look for me" came that sarcastic yet playful tone.. it was loki-
loki-
mobius looked at them, the god had a grin on their face.mobius just frowned not knowing how to feel.
"why'd you leave... leave me?"
loki chuckled.. "you wanted me to go after the other variant, didn't you? and why do you care whether or not i left? you were going to kill me anyway after you got what you wanted, were you not?"
mobius got up and walked over to loki and looked them in the eyes.
"no.. i wasn't going to kill you.. i wouldn't kill you.. and- and i wouldn't let them hurt you either..."
loki laughs again, "you're a good liar moby.. you had me going there for a minute"
mobius frown deepens, he takes lokis face into his hands and looks into their eyes, something flashes in them that mobius couldn't read.
"loki.. can you just trust me- i wouldn't let them do anything to you- i wouldn't hurt you... please... please just trust me on this okay?"
loki just looks at mobius desperation in his eyes pleading for loki to actually believe him, and for some reason they did- they did believe mobius.. they trusted him even.
"okay moby.. i- i trust you"
mobius smiled at loki grateful for this. mobius couldn't help himself he gave loki one last look and pulled the other into a hug burying his face in the gods shoulder.
loki stiffened at the gesture not knowing what to do as they haven't been actually hugged in a long time, but they gave in and hugged the agent back pulling him closer.
they stayed like that for what felt like forever in each others embrace, but it was just a couple of minutes, loki pulled away and looked at the agent with a smile on their face.
"what?" mobius asked.
"nothing, just- i just can't believe you actually trust me- and that you care enough about me to not let anything bad happen to me even though i probably deserve it."
"you don't deserve bad things happening to you- you deserve all good things... and if nobody else will give those to you.. i- i will"
lokis eyes soften, they smile at mobius and mobius returns it and without thinking loki is pulling the agent into a kiss, it was what a first kiss is supposed to be something soft and gentle yet still full of heat and tension.
they pulled away and looked at each other, there's a stupid grin on mobius face as he looked to his feet then back to loki.
"what was that for?"
loki shrugged their shoulders, "felt right in that moment"
"just in that moment?"
"do you want it to be just an "in that moment" thing?"
"no.." mobius tells them.
loki grins, "good i don't want it to be that either"

ahh i'm sorry this is shit, i wrote this like right after i finished episode two and i was sleep deprived- but like again sorry this is shit and sorry i took a week to publish it-
