"Don't look down, don't look down."
I kept repeating myself over and over as I continued to climb. I wanted to get to the top as soon as possible where I would be safe, somehow. A few minutes later and I finally got to her. Camila helped me get into that kind of basket, for which I was internally grateful and I moved around trying to accommodate myself. It wasn't exactly big but it was big enough to fit two people, although something tight had to say. My body brushed against the brunette which made my skin crawl with the slightest contact and that was not good. I was supposed to be mad at her and couldn't be if my body reacted that way every time we touched.
I decided to get as far away from the girl as space allowed before I could face her.
"There you have your stupid tangerine," I said, throwing the fruit at her, which hit her chest and ended up falling between her legs.
She, who was sitting, laughed and took it in her hands.
"Thanks."
She shifted in place, twisting his body a little as if searching for something. I took the opportunity to stand up so I could look around me. In doing so I immediately regretted it.
"Shit," I whispered at the sight.
We were really high up. Even though I got dizzy I kept looking because it was something impressive to be up here and look at everyone who was walking on the deck. And it was even more impressive and almost terrifying to see the horizon, where the only thing that could be seen was the sunset reflected in the water. Just water.
In the last month I had only seen that and when we finally reached the mainland we set sail the next day to go out into the ocean again.
With a sigh, I turned around to now look at Camila, who was watching me carefully as I peeled the tangerine.
"I forgot to ask ... will you?" She spoke with her mouth full showing me a few tangerines that she had by his side.
I blinked for a few seconds looking at the fruits piled up next to her leg. Anger completely washed over me.
She had brought me up for nothing!
"Idiot," I frowned as I clenched my hands into fists.
Without thinking I lunged at her. I tried to hit her but the brunette was faster, moving suddenly and dodging my fists. I fell but got back to my feet, not caring if my ankle was still hurting. I remembered one of the many nights I trained with Dinah in hand-to-hand combat on deck, perhaps this was the time to put what I had learned into practice.
Camila was looking at me with a mocking smile on her face and her eyes were shining with amusement which made me even more angry. I threw a low kick against her legs just like my first attempt she dodged, backing awkwardly but that was just what she wanted. She had focused only on my foot forgetting that I could also hit it with my fists. my right fist traveled straight to her stomach, sucking the air out of her. Then the brunette fell to her knees.
"Is that all?" I asked, surprised to see that I had knocked Camila down.
I felt happy and wanted to celebrate it, but all this only lasted a moment and then a strange feeling invaded me.
I had beaten her and no matter how upset I was, I didn't want to do it again, not with her.
I ran my hands over my face and then through my hair thinking I was going crazy. I should want to kill her for leaving me hanging with Dinah, for making me come up here for no reason, and for all those nights she made me practice late. But not here was I feeling terrible just from taking the air out of her.
