I watched in silence as Camila walked from one side to the other waiting for some news about our friend's condition but no one had left since they entered that room and it has been a long time since. Even being tired we did not want to move until we knew what was happening behind that door. I ran my hands over my face feeling heavy eyelids and with a long sigh I returned my gaze to the brunette.
"Honey, why don't you sit down for a bit," I said as I stood up, taking her by the shoulders.
Without waiting for her answer I guided her to one of the chairs in the place, she did not offer any resistance so it made everything much easier. I crouched a little noticing that her gaze was lost, her eyes were dull. A pressure in my chest was present when I saw her that way, I just wanted to pull her into my arms and make her feel better but it is not like I was in better condition. After all, we were both suffering from the same thing.
"She can't ..." I heard her say in a barely audible voice, "I can't lose her ... I don't want to ..."
"And you will not" I answered taking her face with care "Quiet, everything will be fine" I said at the end, wanting my words to be true.
Camila slowly nodded giving me a sad little smile to which I responded with an equal one. The next few minutes I spent sitting next to her with her head resting on my shoulder, I came to think that she had fallen asleep at some point of the night but the gentle caresses she gave on my hand indicated otherwise. Some time later Ally came out wiping some sweat on her forehead with Shawn behind. I quickly squeezed the brunette's hand and she immediately got up to face the shorter girl, who looked the same or even more tired than us.
"How is it going?!. It's okay?!. Tell me something for God!"
"I did what I could..." she spoke slowly "I think Mani will be fine, she just needs to rest. Fortunately we managed to close her wound and she is somewhat weak from the loss of blood but I think she is a strong girl and she will come out of this so calm down, Mila" she smiled.
The brunette took a few steps back, putting her hands to her head, an act that told me that it was not a good sign.
"How do you want me to be calm if because of me Normani almost died?! ... How do you want me to be calm if I almost lost a sister again?" The last thing she said with her broken voice and a couple of tears fell Of their eyes.
I ran to her taking her body in my arms, holding on tightly, careful not to hurt her. I let her vent for several minutes in which we were all in total silence because all of this was affecting us more than we thought.
"I'm sorry ..." Camila's whisper was heard still wrapped by my arms. "I didn't want to yell at you Ally."
"I understand," was what the shorter one answered with a small smile on her lips.
"I think we all need a drink here," Shawn spoke for the first time since he left the room. "So with Ally's permission I'll serve us some."
"Come in," said the girl.
"Uhm ... Ally?" The brunette called making the blonde pay attention to her.
"Sure, she's asleep now and I don't think she'll wake up soon but you can go see her. Dinah is with her."
Camila nodded and slowly pulled away from me until she released my arms. She gave me a quick glance and then went to that door we had been looking at for several hours. When her body disappeared after entering the room I let out a sigh running my hands over my face again.
"Here you go" the boy offered me a glass when he came to my side "After this they will be able to return to the network. We will take care of her."
