Shawn gave me a smile but his eyes reflected concern. I smiled sadly, despite the safety of Dinah we could not trust that everything would go well, we had to be realistic and even more so considering what we were involved in. Anything could happen here, he knew very well now.

A tense silence dominated the atmosphere which was uncomfortable or at least for me it was. Each one was deep in their own thoughts, perhaps imagining how things would go. I was not sure.

For my part, I dedicated myself to thinking about what I would do when the brunette was in front of me, because she would return with us. That's what I wanted to think right now and I refused to believe anything other than that.

"Hey guys," a deep voice broke into the place.

A green-eyed brunette leaned out from the door, looking at us attentively with the corner of his mouth slightly raised.

"I hate to interrupt you but the food is ready" he spoke again "It's better that you come."

"Let's go in a moment," Shawn replied.

The newest crew member just shrugged and walked out, closing the door. After what happened on that island Shawn decided that it was better to bring him with us, as I understood they knew each other and of course that decision upset Dinah for some reason. She objected, she was not very enthusiastic about the idea of the green-eyed man accompanying us.

"I'm not hungry," the blonde said when we left the cabin and without further ado she started walking towards the stairs that led to the helm.

I watched her for a moment, she came over and leaned her arms on the gunwale as she looked at the horizon. I heard a sigh next to me that came from Shawn, he indicated with his head that we meet with everyone to eat. I declined his offer with a wave of my hands and pointed at the lonely girl. The brunette understood what I meant so he just smiled at me, leaving a gentle squeeze on my shoulder before leaving.

I took some air before going upstairs and meeting Dinah, maybe she just wants to be alone or maybe she needs someone to talk to. I wouldn't know well but I could at least try to find out.

With slow steps I went up the stairs that would take me with the blonde and in the same way I approached her. Once at her side, I imitated her posture, resting my arms on the wood with my eyes straight ahead. Not knowing what to say to her, I was silent waiting for the right words to come out of my mouth.

"Everything okay? ..." I tried something unsure, turning to look at her.

"Mhm."

Laughter coming from the bow made us both turn to see what was happening. Some of the crewmen were laughing around the green-eyed man, probably because of something he had said. I discreetly noticed Dinah's reaction, which was her typical frown. That made me curious.

"Why does it bother you so much that he's here?" I asked, drawing her attention immediately.

"It doesn't bother me that he's here," she answered calmly. "It bothers me that he's alive," she finished saying with clenched teeth and her gaze on the boy.

I looked at her in surprise, I still didn't understand why she had such hatred for the brunette. He could be an idiot sometimes, he showed that to me when we were tied up, but you could tell he was a good boy.

"How did you meet him?" I asked again, interested in the answer.

"In Ally's tavern, the idiot wanted to flirt with Normani," she shrugged.

I started laughing after she finished speaking. So that was it.

"What are you laughing at?" She said, frowning even more.

"Dinah... You are jealous" I answered trying to control my laughter.

"Do not say stupid things."

"Okay, sorry," I said finished laughing.

We stayed for a while in silence simply looking at the sea that contrasted with the sky, which at this moment was an orange color.

"Hey Dinah" I called her "Are you some day going to tell me the full story of how you met Camila?" I continued without even having waited for her to answer my call.

She let out a sigh turning her body completely, now her back made contact with the wood of the gunwale. I waited for her to say something to me, I was hoping she would. This time I didn't want the short version but now I was content with even some other small part of the story. If she told me in parts, maybe I could tie up the dots myself.

"When I was fifteen the pirates invaded my town. They murdered everyone that day, my neighbors, my friends ... my family" she paused, raising her head to look up "I saw how they killed my entire family while I hid behind a piece of furniture. When we left there a few hours later there was no one alive and they had left. So what I did was leave that place, I came to an old dock where I met Camila."

"You said that she had also lost her family..."

"Yes, the same pirates who attacked my town had previously attacked hers," she answered now, looking into my eyes. "We both seek revenge on the same guy, what better way than to join forces to achieve it."

"What about Normani, how did you meet her?"

Dinah smiled sadly, lowering her head now looking at her dirty boots.

"We boarded a Spanish ship a couple of years later, we were about to set the ship on fire when we found her. Those idiots only used it for fun" the latter was said through clenched teeth and her hands in a fist.

She didn't have to say anything else to understand what she meant by being used for his amusement. I couldn't believe it was the same girl we were talking about.

"Camila allowed her to stay, she became very fond of her quite quickly" she spoke again "It's actually something weird, I've only seen her like this on two occasions" After that she looked at me sideways.

I blinked a couple of times assimilating her action and what she had said.

Had I understood correctly? Did she really just say that Camila loved me?

Suddenly I felt that familiar sensation in my stomach, something like millions of butterflies fluttering incessantly. All I wanted to do right now was jump with happiness and celebrate because the brunette also had feelings for me.

This motivated me to find her and thus be able to hold her in my arms. When I did I would make sure I never let go of her.
