I started to open my eyes when I heard many voices around me, with a question in mind.

What the hell was going on?

My vision got a little blurry at first but it returned to normal a few minutes later. The silhouettes I saw before now became the cannibals that had caught us, this time there were more of them. Moving in place I could feel a strong pain in my head, I tried to raise my hands to touch the affected area although my action could not be carried out since my torso was tied to a tree. I let out a groan of pain, I was hurting myself and my body was probably sore from the fall from a while ago. But...

How long had I really been unconscious?

I raised my head looking up at the sky. The sun was not at its highest point so I assumed it was still early. In the distance I saw how all those men with tails gathered around a large campfire while shouting and making strange movements.

Like a damn movie, I thought in horror. I knew what happened after that.

I looked around the place searching the crowd for Dinah without much success. I held my breath as all the natives ducked, ceasing their singing except for one who wore a mask and held what appeared to be a head in his hand.

"My God," impressed I recognized that the head belonged to one of the Spaniards.

I stopped for a moment to look at the campfire, with scattered skulls around it. I quickly looked away from there. I had to escape from here at any cost if I didn't, I was sure it would end up in the collection of bones.

"Ugh," someone complained, "He's going to eat it."

Next to me there was a boy tied up in the same way that I was. He had long brown hair, something unruly that came more or less to his shoulders, his boots were brown and he wore a slightly stained white shirt.

He turned to me with a disgusted expression, widening his eyes when they met mine. I noticed that they were also green.

"Hey," he spoke first. "I haven't seen you around here before, you arrived just in time for dinner," he joked afterwards with a smile on his face.

I would have laughed if I hadn't been dinner, maybe in another circumstance but definitely not now.

"It's not funny," I said annoyed, without raising my voice, I didn't want to draw the attention of those men. "I need to get out of here, have you seen my friend?" She has blond hair and is usually frowning.

"Ohh ..." he was thoughtful "They probably ate it," he finished with a serious expression, then laughed. "Well that's fine, they didn't eat it." She is being prepared for the ritual I think

This kid was an idiot. I had to close my eyes for a moment holding my breath.

How could it be like this at times like these?

I was sure that if I hadn't been tied to this damn tree I would give it a few good hits.

"Stop playing and tell me what ritual you are talking about," I asked interveningly, I didn't want to waste time.

"I think our friends here," he nodded toward the natives, "They offer people to their God or something like that." A sacrifice, you know," he shrugged.

Shit, if she was the sacrifice I had to hurry out of here and go find her. First I had to think about how to get this rope off me. I thought and thought until I remembered something Camila had told me.

"Use it only if necessary"

Those had been her words that time.

Now I had another problem.
