Walking past you think, she's nice,
And don't dwell on it, it seems,
You forget about her, until that night,
And then you see her in your dreams.

The next day you notice her again,
Tan legs and trainers of yellow,
This time your heart gives a flutter,
You want to meet her just to say hello.

You miss the opportunity,
As she turns a different corner,
You don't meet again that day,
And hope at night you'll dream of her.

As you sleep she's in your visions,
The feelings it unfolds are not fake,
Feelings that only happen in dreams,
This fantasy, you don't want to wake.

When you do, you count the minutes,
Until you catch a glimpse of her,
You wait around the usual place,
The same place she was before.

And there she is across the street,
Her yellow trainers are hard to miss,
While crossing you start to daydream,
You meet her and then you kiss.

A horn blast, a car scratches to a stop,
You survive to see her another day,
She turns to see all the commotion,
Was that smile for you, you pray?

Next encounter she's getting an uber,
You overhear the word airport,
So you jump in a cab and follow her,
Stop her from leaving as a last resort.

The traffic is extremely congested,
When you get there it's too late,
A hopeless search, but then see her,
Going through the departure gate.

"No," you shout and turn away,
You can not bear to see her leave,
Heartbroken you sit against a pillar,
Your luck is so hard to believe.

Sat on the floor with head in hands,
A voice says "Are you alright?"
You look and see trainers yellow,
She said, "I dreamed of you last night!"
