I saw her in a Christmas street,
A fleeting glance that seared my heart,
Twinkling lights encapsulate her face,
In a blink of my eye and she was gone.

Festive music fills the air,
The crisp snow covers the ground,
I go to where I saw her standing,
But she is nowhere to be found.

My heart sinks and drowns in sorrow,
Coldness strikes me from behind,
I turn to see a perfect smile,
Snowball in hand menace on her mind.

As I move closer she raises her hand,
I stop, she throws, I dodge, she misses,
Losing her footing she slips in the snow,
I run, she smiles, I help, she kisses.

A cold nose and lips upon my cheek,
A sensation that will haunt me forever,
Or at least till the next time we meet,
Could be soon, could be never.

But we meet again, the very next day,
As a band plays festive melodies,
We dance close together in the snow,
Creating warmth with our bodies.

Looking into each other's eyes,
Seeing nothing else, except a glow,
A feeling that I've never had before,
And one I hope I'll always know.

But alas holidays don't last forever,
Lights are gone, music has ended,
She runs to my arms, I hold on tight,
Wish this moment could be extended.

Tear filled eyes, she said she had to go,
Embraced so close, hearts lay bare,
All at once, she said she loved me,
All at once, if all else vanished I knew I wouldn't care.

We kiss, she leaves, I cry, she waves,
Heartbroken I wander alone,
She's gone, I can't, her smile, my head,
It's something I wish I could postpone.

A year has past and snow starts to fall,
That smile is always on my mind,
A breeze on my cheek reminds me of-,
Then coldness strikes me from behind.
