I took my Mac and cheese out the oven as momma Jen took it off me and went outside. It was Mayas 1st birthday today and Keith went all out, turning our backyard into a carnival.
I took more meat out the oven as momma Jen approached me again smiling in my direction.
"Girl you've been cooped up in this kitchen all damn day. Go outside and chill." She fussed, I shook my head
"But-"
"Monai relax, you've been on your feet all day, I got this." She spoke softly, with her hands on my shoulders. I sighed passing her the spatulas as she ushered me into the garden, with all the guests. There was a bouncy house and loads of carnival games, I spotted kj playing soccer with his cousins, he ran Over to me out of breath. I walked to the juice stand handing him a cup of orange juice and he downed it all.
"You having fun baby." He nodded resting on me tiredly whilst I played with his hair.
"Kj we're still playing, you coming?" One of his cousins called over.
"Yeah." He ran back over to where he was playing. I carried on walking occasionally speaking to friends and family until I spotted Keith sitting at a table with his boys playing dominoes of course with my princess in his lap. When I first found out I was having a girl I was so excited. I was looking forward to dressing her up and I planned all these Mini spa days and girl day outs we were gonna have just for her to barely want to be around me. I love maya but my little munchkin is a handful, the only person she ain't difficult for is her daddy, she is a daddy's girl to the bone she dont even wanna lay with me, always wanna be where Daddy at. I can't carry her for more than 5 minutes without her fussing for her daddy. Keith on the other hand from when he first held maya at the hospital he was in love, he completely adored all the attention and let's her get away with everything, she even sleeps in our bed with us. I love her but this is over the top, We're not even having sex regularly because she's always in our bed with us. I walked over to them both. Maya was laying her head on his chest playing with his chain content, he rubbed her back with one hand playing dominos with the other. I picked maya up showering her in kisses and I could've sworn she rolled her eyes at me. I sat in Keith's lap as he wrapped one arm around my waist.
"Wassup baby." He pecked my neck
bringing me close before averting his attention to the game.
Maya fussed in my arms clearly not wanting to be bothered.
"Stop annoying my princess." Keith mumbled and I screwed him.
"Hush I'm not doing a damn thing."
He slapped his last domino onto the table signalling that he's won. And everyone sighed passing him notes.
"Yeah pay up niggas." He taunted collecting all his money.
"Mane yo ass a cheat." His brother spat
"Wanna play again fellas?" He smirked as the table mugged him.
"Actually I think I'm gonna borrow him off you guys for a second." I smiled taking Keith's hand and pulling him away from the table.
"You wanna cut the cake now?" I asked and he nodded wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I put Maya on the ground and she ran to Kj who was all the way on the other side of the garden. Keith and I giggled at her little toddler run he put his arm around me.
"She's getting so big already." He smiled and I nodded my head. I can't believe it's been a year since I had her already, it's like just yesterday We brought her home from the hospital.

"Come on baby one last push. You got this." He held her hand as She looked up at him for reassurance. Their babygirl was in such a hurry to come into the world that they didn't even have time to go to the hospital, there monai was legs wide open in their bed, Keith by her side and kj standing in the corner of the room recording on Keith's phone. She exhaled and pushed and moments later little cries filled the room. Keith cut the cord proudly and passed the crying newborn to Monai but the baby screamed louder and everyone in the room stopped and looked in confusion, she passed him to Keith and the baby was quiet almost instantly. The nurse giggled.
"She's already found her favourite parent I see."
Keith
I layed on my back in our bed watching wreck it Ralph with my family. Except My grown ass was the only one watching it. Maya layed on my chest in a Fetal position whilst kj layed in between me and his momma. My beautiful soon to be wife was sat up reading one of her many favourite books.
I turned my head to her puckering my lips but she didn't even acknowledge me as she turned the page. I pouted like a kid because every time she read that damn book she forgets that her boyfriend is a sex maniac with a body chiselled by the gods.
I cleared my throat.
No response.
I waved my hand past her face.
No response.
"Baby," I spoke she turned to me with her glasses on the bridge of her nose pushing them up on her face and I smiled a lil, she was so damn cute.
"You good papi." She asked softly putting her book down and turning fully to me. I puckered my lips for a kiss and she reached over kj kissing my lips multiple times
"I love you." I grabbed her hand kissing the top of it. She smiled with teeth.
"I love you too."
And they lived happily ever after.
