Nothing much has happened, me and Keith were sitting in the living room woody in between us. It was so awkward because woody would always be the one to start conversations. Right now we were all just watching the shopping channel.
'Ooh that's a nice dress.' Woody said trying to start up yet another conversation.
'Yeah.' Keith said not even looking.
'The embroidery is so bold with the orange and beige uh stitching.' I nodded my head biting both of my lips.
'Aight well I'm gonna get going.' Woody said slapping his hands on his thighs.
'Yeah.'
Keith got up too.
'Uh what you bout to do?' Woody asked looking at Keith.
'I'm leaving with you.' Keith said
'No you not.' Woody chuckled eyeing Keith.
'But I-.'
'See ya.' And with that woody was out the door leaving me and Keith in the hallway.
We looked at each other and then looked away I stroked my forearm silently as we just stood there looking at the ground.
I saw Kaare come down the stairs with a flat square box in his little hands.
'Do you guys wanna play momomoly with me?' He said his head switching between us.
'Sure.'
'Yea.'
'Keith You stay cheating when we play this game.' I shouted clearly annoyed this was the second time I had ended up in jail.
'Am not! I was. just playing by the rules like you.'
'Bullshit.' I said rolling my eyes.
Kaare got tired so I put him up to bed along with his sister earlier who was already snoring on the floor with one of her barbies in her hand.
'Yeah yeah.'
Keith took a community chest card and took 50ms out of my bank.
'You know what I'm done playing with you. I said getting up off the floor and going to the couch.'
'Mane cmon bae.' Keith said rubbing his face down his cheek. I froze and turned around.
'What?'
'Huh.' Keith said obliviously counting his money.
'You um called me bae.' I said quietly looking at the ground.
'Oh I guess it stuck.' He shrugged scratching the back of his neck.
It was awkward between us and I was just standing there when Keith stood up.
'Can we please talk about what happened? That night?' He said lowly.
'I'm so sor-'
'Why did you do it?' I said crossing one leg over the other looking dead ahead tears threatening to fall.
'Well,' he turned his whole body to me.
'You remember Brittany right?' I nodded wondering where the hell my enemy from school fell into the picture.
'I remember telling her I liked you because yall were besfriends, and she said you felt the same way, that you talk about me all the time.' He smiled small.
'She said that you kept on saying how much you wanted to fuck me. So I asked her what you was into and she said the rough type, your hella kinky and freaky and you like role play, that no matter how many times you say no it was just acting. So I took her advice.' He swallowed the lump in his throat.
'And I regretted it every night for the rest of my life. I'm so sorry Nashyra.' He said his voice cracking at the end.
I watched him cry silently as he put his head in his hands.
'I'm so so genuinely sorry.' He said sniffing. A couple tears fell from my eyes too.
I tucked some hair behind my ear. Well you gave me two wonderful kids so..' I said chuckling a little at the thought of my two menaces.
'Two?' Keith questioned. Looking up his eyes puffy and nose red.
'Yeah I gave birth to twins.' I said sniffing looking at my hands in my lap.
I got out my phone showing Keith my home screen of me Kai and Ri at a restaurant sitting in a booth. Ri had ice cream all over his face cheesing whilst Kai had Ice cream dripping from her hand looking at me and I was holding my hair looking at the ends that were covered in ice cream.
Keith smiled more.
'What's her name?' Keith said pointing at The girl with two puffs.
'that's my little girl Kai.'
'Kai.' Keith said observing her 'she's got freckles just like me.' He said smiled stroking her face.
'Yeah, her names Kaidence but I call her Kai for short.'
'Where is she?'
'Asleep with her brother. You wanna see em?'
'If it's not too much to ask.'
'Their you kids too, come on.' I said leading him to the stairs and into the twins room.
But they weren't there,
'oh my god can't they just sleep in Their own beds?' I mumbled.
I went to my room and opened the door seeing the tv on and them both watching it calm and unbothered.
'Hey mommy.' They both said. In unison I led the way to the bed and they both got on their knees with their arms out I went to them and gave them both hugs and kisses. I turned around and saw Keith watching us in the doorway with a nervous expression.
'Come.' he nodded. He hesitantly stepped in walking towards us. Ri layed on his stomach whilst Kai sat criss cross both of them focused on nickelodeon.
I patted the spot next to me and Keith sat down.
'Guys.' I said turning the volume down on the tv.
'Hey mister Keith.' Kaare cheesed as he went over to hug him. Keith smiled in their embrace and Ri sat in his lap.
Kai looked on curiously. Her fingers in her mouth.
'I want you to meet someone.' I said as she came and hid behind me squeezing my hand.
'She's shy.' I mouthed to Keith. He nodded ruffling Kaare's fade.
'Look, He has freckles just like you.' I said putting her in my lap and squeezing her cheeks. She smiled a little looking at Keith.
'Hey whats your name?' Keith questioned. Holding out his hand, her one still in her mouth.
'Kaidence.' She said just above a whisper. Holding out her hand.
Keith took her hand and kissed it bowing his head.
'My name is Keith, at you service princess kk.'
She giggled cutely and so did Keith.
I went downstairs and they all followed suit. I sat Kai on the kitchen counter kaare and Keith in the living room doing something else whilst I made us all something to eat.
'Mommy?' She questioned.
'Yes baby?'
'I love you.'
'I love you too.' She looked at me cook admiringly.
'What makes you say that?' I questioned.
'I just don't like him.' She sassed speaking up.
'Who keith?'
She nodded.
'Why?'
'Because he's a dude.'
'But Kaare's a dude.' I pointed out.
'Yes but he's my brother.'
'What about uncle deedee?'
'He's your brother.'
'I just don't want him to hurt you, that's all.' She said swinging her legs.
