Chapter 10

Kalin's POV
I couldn't help but look directly at Jay when I called out Kaylan's name. I had really been hoping that I picked her name since I had to kiss whoever I danced with. The twinkle in her eyes seemed to fade away when he name wasn't called. I walked up to her but she got up and left the room. I tried to follow her but Kaylan stopped me.

"Now that she's out of the way, I can have you all to myself," she said seductively.

I pushed her away and ran after Jay. I ran out the hotel and asked the doorman if he had seen her. He said he saw her run towards Central Park. I ran in that direction and soon arrived. I looked around until I saw her sitting on a swing singing Get Away (by Kehlani) to herself.

I stood in front of the swing and held my arms out. "Jump," I said.
"Kalin I'm not trying to injure myself or you before the competition. You recently got your wrist brace off and I don't think you want it back."
"Just trust me. I'll catch you. On the count of three. One...Two...Three," I yelled and she actually jumped into my arms.

Her impact caused us both to fall into the grass, laughing at our stupidity. She was lying on my chest, with her hair sprawled all over. I wish I could just pause this moment and stay in it forever. She sat up and looked up at me.

"Why'd you come after me," she asked.
"I thought you were upset at me,"
"No it's not that," she said looking away.
"What is it then,"
"I just don't trust Kaylan,"
"Jay really. Your only saying this because your just jealous that you don't get to dance with or kiss me again," I said laughing.
"No Kalin I overheard her conversation earlier today,"

*FLASHBACK*
I was walking to the end of the hallway to get a bag of ice for the boys. They're too lazy to get it themselves😑. I got the ice from the vending machine but it was $5. And they only gave me $1 so I had to use my money. I started to walk out the vending machine when I heard voices in the hallway.

"The plan is a go. I'll make sure to video tape their routines and I'll have them to you two days before the performance so you can have time to study it and take their moves. I'll make sure to make Jay hate Kalin and she'll be back in your arms," one said.

It was silent and I peered from my hiding spot. There was Kaylan and Nate making out. So Kaylan was going to be feeding them our routines, I think not.
*end of flashback*

Jay's POV
"Wow Jay your so jealous and envious that Kaylan gets to kiss me that you made up that ridiculous story. I thought you were different from the other girls but I guess your just like the others. That's really low," he said shaking his head.

I sat there shocked.

"You really think I would make up a story like that? Wow Kalin, I thought we were close but I guess not. I'm not even going to beg you to believe me because when she screws you over don't come running back to me. Have fun kissing her," I said standing up and walking away.

I walked back into the hotel room and everyone stopped and looked at me. My mascara was probably all over my face from crying. I brushed off everyone's questions and rushed into Kalin and I's room. Before I shut the door I couldn't help but notice the smug look of victory plastered on Kaylan's face like she knew everything that had gone down.
