" My knight in shining amours. "

[ Aru POV ]

The sun had left the horizon as the sky was painted with indigo and twinkling stars had made their appearance. I looked up at it as a sigh left my lips, regretting that I stopped by the ramyeon restaurant. Now, I have to walk home alone at the night. Usually, Huening, Taehyun and I would walk home together and now, I am all alone, dragging my feet home.

I took out my phone as I couldn't stand it anymore. I missed them a lot and the fact that they didn't call me after yesterday bugged me. I decided to make the call as I clicked Taehyun's ID and called him without any hesitation. Anticipated to hear Taehyun's voice, I was disappointed when I heard the lady's voice.

"The number that you had called is unavailable, please leave-" I ended the call as I let out a frustrated groan but I didn't give up there when I remembered Huening.

I went ahead and called, once again waiting as I tapped my foot. Annoyingly, the woman's voice came again and I cut her off before she could finish her words. "Fine! Don't pick up my call!" I yelled, ending the call.

I stomped my feet, walking my way home as I started planning ways to kill them when I finally met them and ideas came flowing in, supporting my anger.

After a few minutes of walking, I finally calmed down. The blowing engine of cars and the chatters of people grew lesser and lesser as I walked further away from them.

The familiar sound of crickets chirp entered my ears when I reached the empty road that led to my home sweet home.

Well, I thought it was empty until I heard the sound of a blaring engine that took over the crickets' chirps. I frowned as I quickly walked up the hill to find myself stepping back when I saw a group of men dressed in clothes that perfectly described, "Gangster." The word crossed my mind.

For most K-dramas I had watched, the female leads always walked into this kind of danger and got themselves in trouble. There's never once I didn't start firing my complaints at them and told them what to do when obviously they couldn't hear me.

Now given that my situation was the same, I decided not to be stupid and turned to walk away but bumped into someone instead.

I rubbed my nose as my eyes looked up to have them widened in fear. Maybe, the female leads were smarter. They must have speculated the result of running away and me being the dumb person I am didn't, therefore I had to face this trouble.

"Hey there lady, where are you going all alone?" He chuckled as he took his steps toward me. I backed away from him as I held onto my arms protectively. I turned quickly and tried running away but I was blocked by another guy who was smirking down at me.
