"The callings from the dark, an approaching fate that scars one's mind"

The old sat on his throne as he pondered. The constant thumping from his heavy golden sabaton filled the empty hall.

It wasn't long until someone joined him in getting rid of the silence. An Asgardian knight entered the hall, walking towards the throne. Upon reaching a metre away from it, he kneeled and held his head down.

"My king, she's here," the knight said.

Odin brought his attention to him and sat up straight. "Let her in."

The Asgardian knight nodded his head before standing up and walking out to fetch the person who was here for Odin but she beat him to it.

She walked in with an overwhelming aura. Her dress swept the floor as she walked in. They were made of green silk and a belt made of bones wrapped around her waist. She wore a red hood that covered her face but she took it off when she reached the throne.

Her beautiful wavy blonde hair was revealed and black feathers were seen around her head, serving as a tiara. Beautiful golden necklaces with black onyx as well as on the rings on her fingers along with rubies.

Her olive-green eyes looked up at Odin and smiled with her black matte lips. "My King," she said before kneeling.

"You may stand up, Volva. It's been a long time. If I must say, your presence isn't that great to be welcomed." Odin chuckled before stepping down the throne.

The woman named, Volva stood up and chuckled as well. "Are you not happy to see me, my king?"

"Well, more like worried, after you told me about the war," he replied, "Now tell me, what did I do to earn your visit?"

Silence filled the hall after Odin's question. Volva stared at him as her smile slowly faded. Sensing the tense air, Odin frowned as a bad feeling started to stir inside him.

"Speak."

The sound of rustling leaves was heard when the wind made it sway and birds flew by, chirping together. Following their melody were crickets that came out after the morning rain. The peaceful ambience was maintained for a while until a weird sounding alarm crashed against it.

It rang from the phone and filled the whole room. Not only did it scare the bird away from the window but caused a lazy potato to fall off from her bed and land on the cold floor. Way to start her morning with bone-crushing pain.

"Ahh... my back," she whined as he squirmed on the floor. "Why does this happen every time? At this point, I need to see a doctor."

Gathering her consciousness, Aru slowly sat up with her hand rubbing her back to relieve the pain. She groaned before standing up and started limping towards the bathroom.
