"A ballet with an injured leg."

"Jae yi?!" Taehyun exclaimed.

The woman who was indeed Jae yi giggled. "Yup! That's me."

Both of them laughed at their surprising encounter. "It's been a while! How have you been?" Taehyun asked with a bright smile.

"Oh, nothing much. Life has been quite normal. Just managing this flower shop and this little one." Jae yi replied as she adjusted her hold on the little girl. The little girl could only give a polite smile as she was yet to fully grasp the situation.

Taehyun chuckled. "I see. Is she your niece?" he asked, not knowing it was a sensitive question.

The awkward silence seeped in as Jae yi looked like she was hesitating to answer. However, the little girl took over before she could think of answering. "What do you mean niece? She is my mama!" she shouted and pouted while hugging Jae yi tightly.

Taehyun was taken aback by the shout but slowly got embarrassed when he realised it. "Right, she did call her mama a while ago. Why did I let that pass my mind?" Taehyun internally scolded himself for not being attentive.

On the other hand, Jae yi also felt embarrassed and taken aback by how rudely her daughter answered Taehyun. "Jang mi-ah, what was that tone? Didn't you promise me to speak politely? Apologise to him right now," Jae yi strictly ordered but Jang mi refused to and buried her face deeper into her mother's shoulder.

"It's okay Jae yi!" Taehyun quickly cut in. "She doesn't have to. I was being rude after all. I am sorry," Taehyun apologised, making a bow as well.

"Oh no no no, don't apologise! It wasn't that big of a deal. People always misunderstand us because I am still young so it's fine." Jae yi laughed it off as if it was nothing but Taehyun knew it wasn't an easy thing to just brush off.

"She must have encountered the same thing countless times to easily laugh it off like that." Taehyun thought and he felt ashamed to be one of those countless people.

"Would you like some tea?" Jae yi asked, snapping Taehyun out from his thoughts.

Taehyun smiled before replying, "Sure!"

Taehyun's eyes wandered around, from the flowers on the pot to the veins of flowers hung on the wall. "Here you go," Jae yi said as she served Taehyun a nice hot cup of tea, bringing his attention to her. "And these are dried chrysanthemum flowers for you to bring home. You can make a nice tea out of it." She handed a cute pouch of chrysanthemum to Taehyun.

"Oh you don't have to—"

"Please take it, we have a lot of it back home and I need to clear it out before Jang mi consumes all the tea by herself," Jae yi jokingly said, causing Taehyun to laugh.
