*MADS' POV*

The next morning, she climbed out of Jaden's bed and scrambled to find her shoes. She had sobered up enough to realize that if Josh found her he'd be mad, but if he found her in Jaden's bed... they'd never speak again. She looked down at Jaden still sleeping peacefully and felt bad for him. He looked so sad and after their talk last night she couldn't even go through with sleeping with him.

He couldn't shut up about some girl he was hung up on and after a little kissing, they'd actually ended up talking the rest of the night

He couldn't shut up about some girl he was hung up on and after a little kissing, they'd actually ended up talking the rest of the night. She'd put her number in his phone, but as much as she hoped he'd call... she knew he probably wouldn't. She panicked when she heard the elevator ding but when she turned the corner there was no one there so she walk-of-shamed her way back to the hotel she had spent the last few days at.

*JADEN'S POV*

He rolled over grumbling and felt the side of the bed empty. He remembered kissing a girl that wasn't Charli but he really hoped that he'd imagined bringing her back to the room. He threw on sweats and decided to go try to talk things out with Charli but opened the door to Josh, carrying 2 cups of coffee and a look of shock:
"Coffee? Oh, thank God. You're an angel dude."

Josh exploded on his roommate as Jaden sat back on the bed in shock. Mads was his ex and he'd seen her leaving the room? Did that mean- Had they slept together after all? After Josh finished unloaded all of his frustration on Jaden in the form of screaming, Jaden finally exploded. He was feeling so lost and frustrated that Josh always seemed to get what he wanted yet still was throwing it away. Finally, he opened up about his feelings for Charli:
"...and guess what? She doesn't want me either! So yeah, I went home with a random girl from a party. I'm sorry that it ended up being another girl you staked some claim to first."

Josh knew everything Jaden was feeling was right and he was being ungrateful by being scared to come clean and fix things with Y/N so he headed across the hall to do just that. Jaden cleaned up the mess in his room as he ran through every scenario that could possibly come from this.

Would Josh tell Charli about Mads? God, what would it even matter? He'd definitely tell Y/N and she would definitely tell Charli. He knew he had to get to her first and tell her himself if he wanted any chance of her understanding that this was NOT him being a player and instead of a drunken mistake of a heartbroken man who loved her.

He hadn't said those words to her yet because he didn't want to scare her off, but it was true and he knew it. He loved her more than anything. He chugged a bottle of water, hoping it would relieve his hangover, and opened the door only to find Charli sitting in the hallway, alone.

Jaden sighed, deeply and crouched in front of Charli who was waiting for Josh and Y/N to make up

Jaden sighed, deeply and crouched in front of Charli who was waiting for Josh and Y/N to make up. She smiled up at him, grateful to have the chance to tell him she loved him. They both said at the same time:
"I need to tell you something."

Charli laughed and said:
"You first."

Jaden: "I slept with someone else."

Charli's smile only faded to despair as she realized they had very different things to share.

Jaden: "It meant nothing, I was just drunk and stupid and-"

Charli: "I- I- Uh- I need to go."

She jumped up, looking for an escape route before her tears let on that she cared.

Jaden: "Please, talk to me."

Charli: *lying*
"Jaden, I really don't care who you sleep with. You and me? That was the stupid thing that meant nothing."

Jaden stumbled back as if he'd just been hit by a landmine and rushed into his room before he said anything he would regret.

*JADEN'S POV*

Once the door locked behind him, a flood of tears broke through and he lost control. He swept everything off of his desk onto the floor and then pulled everything from his closet out and on the ground as well. He broke the shot glass he'd taken from the New Year's Eve party where they'd first kissed and then dropped to the floor breaking down harder.

He held the shards in his cut up hands trying desperately to piece it back together in a vain attempt to fix what he'd done. As blood dripped from his fingertips to the floor he finally gave up and dropped it in the trash. He shook off his emotions and started to pick up his clothes, but instead of hanging them back up, he impulsively shoved them in a bag and headed across campus towards the frat house.
