Chase explains the situation with Vinnie's appeal as everyone looks on in shock. He tells them that ultimately the new judge held up the same sentence, but how hard it must have been to go through it alone: "You really should have been there, dude."
Josh crumpled next to you on the bed and kissed your forehead, wrapping his arms around you: "Baby, I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me?"
You're curled up trying to fight tears because everything that happened today has left you completely emotionally raw. One more thing could just push you over the edge.
Chase: "Are you ever actually around anymore for her to tell you much of anything?"
You: "Guys stop arguing. This is just as much my fault as anyones. I didn't tell him or Charli. I called Chase and Chase wanted to be here for me and I let him because he's been my best friend since I was 7 years old. Any more questions or can we just move on?"
Josh: "I'm sorry I've let getting ready for midterms get in the way of you and me. I'm here now. What can I do?"
You: "I'm fine. Let's all go get dinner or something."
Josh: "Okay. I'm going to run across the hall and change."
Charli: "I'll come with you. I had plans with Jaden so I want to make sure he's cool with grabbing dinner with you guys before we go."
After they are gone, you hug Chase and thank him for always having your back, but ask him to go easy on Josh. You are really in love with him and you aren't exactly easy to deal with when you shut down like this.
Chase: "I understand. I've been friends with you forever. Trust me I know how you can get. We're all good I promise."
You hear a phone vibrate against your nightstand. You grab it and immediately realize it's Josh's phone. It's too late you've already seen the message on the notification screen.

You sit back on the bed and stare at the screen in shock. They're texting? Chase grabs the phone and asks, confused: "Who's Mads?"
You: "It's Josh's ex-girlfriend."
Chase: "The one from New Year's Eve? Oh hell no."
You stop him before he can storm across the hall: "Chase, stop. I am in love with him and I KNOW he loves me."
Chase: "That's what you said about Vinnie and why am I here right now? Because Vinnie ended up being exactly what I told you he was."
You: "Josh is different. You have to trust me. Please, you're only here for a weekend. Please just let it go. I promise I will talk to him about it."
After dinner, Jaden convinces you all to join him at the Beta Gamma party. He regrets his decision when Chase and Charli are extremely flirty after a few drinks.
Charli: "C'mon let's go get me another drink."
Chase: "Girl, get your panties out of a bunch. You've drained two in the time it took me to drink one."
Charli: "You've seen all of my panties that you ever will, Mr. Hudson."
Jaden's head jerked around at that obvious inside joke. You can see how hurt he looks and pull her aside: "Hey, I know you guys aren't like dating but you know he's into you. I know you care about him and don't want to intentionally hurt him so maybe don't flirt with another dude in front of him right now?"
Charli: "Who Chase? Haha... no. He's your friend. I am just being friendly."
You: "We both know 'just a friend' doesn't mean the same to you as it does to other people... and I don't want either of my friends to get led on, so chill."
