Before she can stall for an answer, Josh walks in with a huge smile on his face. You have to admit you're nervous as you ask: "What have you two been plotting?"
Josh: "Who? Me and Charli? She doesn't know about this one. I did it all by myself."
That didn't add up, but he's just so excited that you decide to not question anything and smile as the door opens behind you.
Chase: "SURPRISE!!!!

You: "Oh my God!!! What are you doing here?"
Chase: "Well you couldn't come home for the summer so Josh brought me here."
He picked you up in a giant hug but you couldn't help but notice he and Charli smiling at each other as he sat you down.
Charli: "Hey, Chase. I didn't know you were coming. How long are you staying?"
You look over at Charli confused knowing darn well she knew, but then turn back to Chase to ask: "So you just decided to fly here to visit me? I thought it was going to take you longer to save for a ticket?"
Chase: "Well Josh had airline miles that he wasn't going to be able to use to fly you two to Canada anymore, so he used them for me."
You looked at Josh and he was still so excited it was adorable. You whispered towards him: "You did good, baby."
Charli: "So where are you going to stay? I'm sure you can sleep here since they always stay at Josh and Jaden's"
Josh: "Actually, Jaden left for the summer so his bed is empty and I figured it'd be nice to have a roomie again for a while."
You couldn't believe Charli. She had some nerve. Did she think you couldn't see through what she was pulling. It was nothing personal because you absolutely loved Charli. She was one of your very best friends in the world, but whatever she was going through right now would destroy Chase if she unleashed on him. She'd absolutely destroyed Jaden's heart and he was strong. Chase was different. He was so sweet that he couldn't handle her changing her mind after leading him on.
You looked at the way he was smiling at her and knew it'd be pointless to warn him, so you made a mental note to tell Charli that Chase was off limits. He was your best friend not hers. You hugged Chase again: "I'm just so glad you're here. You're the only part of home I missed so this is honestly just the best!!"
Josh: "I just figured with me taking summer classes, it'd be nice to not be so lonely all the time."
The next day the 4 of you have planned to have a picnic in the lawn outside of the dorms. It's such a beautiful summer day and you wanted to enjoy it.

You: "So Chase, how was your job okay with you spending a summer here?"
Charli: "He took a break from work, right Chase?"
You: *glaring at Charli* "What are you going to do when you go back home if your job isn't waiting for you?"
Chase: "I have plenty of time off and my boss understood that I'm young and needed to figure some things out."
Josh: "Are you considering college after all?"
Chase: "I don't know about that, but there are just some things that I need to give a chance or I know I'll regret it."
