CHAPTER 39

For a year Neelima called daily and updated her work on Emfort.

"Neels please stop! I don't want to hear anything about it",Vishwas finally told her one day "I need some peace of mind, please! don't keep calling me and updating me on these unless stuffs"

Vishwas was suffering from guilt of lying to Neelima but he did it for his daughter. The suffering Hima underwent was unimaginable. So when the doctors suggested hypnosis to give her a circumstantial amnesia Vishwanath asked them to erase her memory from the Day Himanthika met Neelima.

He knew that if She would remember Neelima, once out of bed Hima will go straight to Neela and that would be another disaster waiting to happen.
'If a lie could safe guard everyone then so be it', Vishwanath consoled himself.

For another 6 months Neelima did not call him at all. At times Vishwa wanted to tell her the truth but he always never trusted Neelima when she was around Sk. So he held back.

Finally one day when she called him
"you liar, How could you? Your daughter is alive. I just met her in her college. But she doesn't remember me. Vishwa whats going on?"

"You are in India?"

"Yes in India! in Tamilnadu! I'm standing right here in her college, you tell me or I will confront her"

"Thats not Himanthika, thats Shruthi Varshinis daughter", he lied

"Shut up Vishwa! I know Varshini doesn't have a daughter, just a Son, and he lives in London", Vishwa was taken aback by Neelimas strong memory.

"Neels leave her alone, she has suffered enough, she has not recovered still, she has partial amnesia"

"Fine! but i have got a break through in EM fort it will help her, please! Vishwa talk to her and ask her to contact me."

"You can give that to me, I will some how let her know. Do not contact her Neels its for your own good, Your life maybe in Danger, if you contact Hima. Stay away you will be endangering her too."

"If a Life could save many, then so be it." Neelima switched off her phone.

Vishwa phoned Varshini and told her the situation. Next he was hesitant but he had to do. He searched for the phone to call the person who had contacted him. IT was at his office he remembered he drove like a mad man like he has never driven before.

He felt that every second he wasted death was nearing Hima. He found the phone it was dead, he had no charger, He ran in search of a mobile shop. The public watched him running like a headless chicken and were amused.

When he finally got to call the number He only heard "Sorry! was able to safe just one do not contact again", He lost it he threw the mobile on the ground and smashed it and screamed like a maniac.

Varshini gave him the news That Neelima had been in a accident and was being taken to a hospital, and Hima was having convulsions as she witnessed the accident and was being admitted in a nearby hospital.

Vishwanath was consumed by Guilt he felt that he was responsible for Neelima's Death.

A call from Shruthi woke him up "Dad you ok?" she asked "been calling you so long."

"Yeah! Panda, I'm ok just dozed off", he said wiping off the dried tears.

"Rishi and I are coming to meet you for dinner", she said

"Yeah will arrange for a private dinner hon, what time", he asked

"7.30pm"

"Fixed", he said and checked his watch it was already 6.45pm. He called the hotel management for a private dinner for 3.

They arrived sharp. The dinner was silent and Shruthi broke the silence "Dad I have decided to go through the process, I want to do it",she said

Rishi observed Vishwanath he had been just drinking and had not touched anything from his plate "I can help instead, I can tell you what happened or I can get you the doctor who performed it instead of you going through with it."

"That's a good idea darling", Rishi told her

"No I want to have my memory back the memory of the time that I spend with Rishis mom, I need it back Dad, please! Please! Rishi", She pleaded

Rishi knew the pain she would undergo during the reversal of an induced amnesia. "Darling I appreciate it,but the side effects are more complicated. you may sometimes loose your memory permanently or you may become insane", Vishwa gave Rishi a look of gratitude

"No Rishi! I need to do it I trust you, let's go slowly, not rushing", Shruthi asked him

"It's this stubborness of yours that I was afraid of, and I have got you to this stage", Vishwanath gulped another glass of whiskey

"Thats too much alcohol", Rishi STOPed him from pouring another round

"I get that stubbornness from you Dad", Shruthi said

"Your wish", Vishwas gave up "Rishi can you get me to the lift", He stumbled

"Let me" Shruthi got up

"You finish your dinner", her father ordered

Once near the Lift Vishwanath held Rishis hands, "the things you are going to learn will be very hard for you, so get someone else to Reverse, maybe the same guy who induced it,you stay a spectator. Son everything was my fault I apologize for everything don't hate My daughter for that. I did it so she will live. If only your mom would have listened to me She would have been alive. I'M sorry Rishi so Sorry",and he passed out.

Rishi with the help of an Waiter took Vishwanath to his room.

Rishis mind was now unable to decide he wanted to know what was the actual involvement of his mom in all this.

His mind was totally occupied he didn't listen to a word Shruthi said on their drive back home.

HH hospital was back up and running as usual after the news broke out many people poured in their donations to the hospital, and many doctors walked in to treat the patients, some came for social media fame but some came for real service. Shruthi was relaxed there was now enough doctors to do rounds surgery and specialists at the OPD.

Sam looked gloomy "What's wrong dude you look sad? Worried someone may take your place", she teased

"Don't do it Shru", he said

"Do what?"

"That reversal of your amnesia"

"My Dad put you to this?" she asked

"No! you know that I can hear what you guys speak in your Study right? I heard your Dad, What if Rishi hates you? I know how much you love him. Can you live without him? knowing he hates you", Sam asked

Shruthi was in tears "Sam keep it with you but I think I may have witnessed Neelimas death, This one comes and goes along with my other nightmares, Me standing in the road watching her car being crushed by a tanker and a car from both sides"

"Hey that must be your mind playing trick", Sam consoled her

"No Sam! this was the first Nightmare I got. It was after seeing Neelima's picture on the Walls of Miracle hospital then slowly others started to creep in. When Rishi told me his mom died of an accident I Googled her death,it's the same way that I see in my Nightmares".
