Chapter 9 - You only live once...

Mallory didn't get a call from the district. She just needed to get out of there without hurting shay's feelings. She doesn't quite know where to go so she drives to Antonio's. Obviously she texts him first
*The text*
Mallory- I'm coming over
Antonio- It's midnight! Your not coming over
Mallory- I need your advice partner!
Antonio- I think I just heard a noise outside my door...Be back in a sec
Mallory- it's me you idiot! Let me in
"Present day*
"I hate you so much" Antonio says as he opens the door
"Oh please! We all know you didn't have plans" Mallory says as she sits on his couch
"What's going on?" Antonio says as he sits next to her
"She kissed me" Mallory blurts out
"Wait! Slow down! Who kissed you?" Antonio asks now invested in what she has to say
"Shay" Mallory mutters
"Wow! I didn't think you were-" Antonio says as Mallory cuts him off
"Neither did I! But she's amazing, she's funny and smart" Mallory says smiling at the thought of shay
"Judging by how your face just lit up when I mentioned her name I think you should go for it" Antonio says as he smiles
"Is she worth it though? Is she going to break my heart like the rest of them?" Mallory asks
"I think she is, shay is honest and would never hide something from you" Antonio says as he smiles
It's the next morning and Mallory has just left for work when she gets a message from shay
*The texts*
Shay- Everything work out okay last night?
Mallory- Yep
Shay- Is there a reason your being dry with me??
Malory- Not being dry! It was a long night! Give me a break!
Shay- clearly something is bothering you so imma leave you too it! Don't bother dropping by tonight
*present day*
Mallory doesn't quite know how to respond so she puts her phone in her back pocket and drives to work
"Do we have anything to even bring him in for? A parking ticket or anything?" Mallory asks
"He's got his lawyers on us" Jay adds
"How can he afford lawyers! I'm a cop and can barely afford my rent!" Mallory asks as she runs her hand through her hair frustrated
"We're gonna get him" Antonio says
"It's been 2 weeks! And we've been working on the same stupid case! Did you know the youngest girl to die in that attack was 14! 14 Antonio! We can't let them down!" Mallory shouts before walking outside to cool off
"What's up her ass?" Adam asks
"Trouble in paradise" Antonio adds before going to find her
"I'm sorry" Mallory says as she can see Antonio walk up
"Don't be! Clearly everything is happening at the once" He adds
"I don't know what to do about shay" Mallory says
"Look! You only live once! And you should go for what you want! That's my advice" Antonio says before walking back in
It's later that night and Mallory has been thinking about what Antonio said. She races over to shay's apartment and knocks on the door
"Mallory?" Shay says as she answers the door
"You only live once!" Mallory says
"So?" Shay says coldly
"You go for what you want!" Malory says as she puts her hand on shay's waist and pulls her close. Mallory kisses her passionately and shay pulls away stunned
"What did that drink do to you?" Shay says as they both laugh
